Proof-of-Brain Square

Hive is one of the kind. Am I being maximalist if I say that? I bet many of us feel this way, even if under some aspects we're just being biased.

However, there's one thing on Hive that is absolutely incredible, even after all these years - the proof-of-brain concept. While it also exists on the other blockchains which have a common ancestor, here's where most of the communities are. And community is needed to make the proof-of-brain work.

Others have tried to create an alternative to this proof of brain concept. I admit I haven't tried 'the competition'. But enough on Hive have. Although it's great there are alternatives, I see many from those who have tried them still say great things about Hive, by comparison.

Sometimes they offered tips on what we can do to better our own system, and (pun unintended) adding tips was one of them, for example.

But the underlying proof-of-brain (PoB) concept, even if it possibly can be improved, has worked over the years, with some tweaks here and there.

And now comes the best part.

If PoB is a working concept, why not tokenize it? Yup, somebody thought about it.

For a little while we have a token called POB (proof-of-brain) on Hive Engine.

It's more than a token though... It's a tribe. Having it's own inflation, tokenomics and reward mechanism. That sounds like a proof-of-brain square. :)

It has its own condenser, but it's ok if you just use its proofofbrain tag.

The token distribution is exclusively made through PoB. Meaning through posting and curating.

No tokens have been set aside for the creator or a team, no miners exist for POB and no interest is paid for staking it.

The low number of POB in circulation now at the beginning also made the price pump quite hard. I wonder where it will find equilibrium and how the price will evolve as more tokens will be minted.

The interesting fact about the tokens in circulation is that POB will use the exact model of bitcoin regarding tokenomics: a max token supply of 21 million and inflation slashed in half every 4 years.

POB doesn't have to reach the success of bitcoin, but even a fraction of the successes of the granddaddy coin and the proof-of-brain concept, combined, will mean guaranteed success for early adopters.

Is it like getting involved with bitcoin in 2011 or even our old blockchain in 2016? Maybe not, but it comes with the traits "of a great family", so who knows?

Personally, I really love this Proof-of-Brain token. And I'll likely be a long-term staker.

I've just began trying to curate a few contents a day that are from the POB front-end. I like the concept as well!

I wonder why it took so long for someone to think of it. :)

Motivates me to want to start a tribe honestly, just don't know what to do!

Starting a tribe is easy. The problem is what you do with it afterwards to make it successful.

Fair point, I will continue thinking about things. There are numerous successful tribes to sculpt a new tribe after

It could become the “gold token” of Hive. FOMO has a way of doing that to people. :)

Yes, but it's way too early to FOMO... It's a long way to 21m, unlike in the case of bitcoin. But it's nice to indulge in a comparison with a titan.
