This does seem like the work of bots, which identified 'MarsCoin' in his tweet, saw it existed and started to buy like crazy.

But it had no relation with context, because he didn't refer to an existing coin but a future one.

That's the first filter a human who pays attention would have noticed.

Never mind research, that would be a second phase, after filtering out the obvious.
