Zelensky is believed to want to step in and provide the gas to Europe, something that many feel is not likely to be feasible.
From what I heard, they lack either the expertise or the equipment to drill some of the major reserves they have. Not to mention now most of them are in territories controlled or soon to be controlled by the Russians (theoretically, because they conquered places before, only to be pushed back).
