When Was the Last Time You Checked Your Hive Account Stats?

in LeoFinance5 months ago

I admit I don't do it often, other than the stats I track for my weekly Hive goals updates.

But I thought I should do it today, as a point of reference, for the future.

Mainly, I was curious how am I doing on the curation side, since I haven't checked that in a long while.

8.13%... Not awful, but not great either. I remember having it a little higher, but never above 9%.

I am still earning more from author than from curation rewards, which denotes that I still have a relatively small account (at around 35k HP actively curating) since the ratio is reversed for very big accounts, even if they are active authors.

This is the situation at 30 days:

Not significant amounts, but probably better than most newcomers. Consistency and seriosity pay off in time.

I'll continue to increase my HP so I can earn more curation rewards because let's be honest, curating is easier than creating daily posts, even when done manually and seriously.

I almost never use my full vote, which is probably a mistake, because someone receiving a 100% upvote is happier than someone receiving a 30% upvote, even if in the latter case you can spread it to more people.

Nonetheless, a 1.6 HIVE full upvote is pretty nice, considering it was a slow grind up, and it will "look" more appealing 12 months from now.

This is an error we keep seeing on many front ends, which makes me think it's not front-end related, but rather from the API side. Hopefully, we won't see these glitches anymore, as they have been around for quite some time already.

Obviously, my rep is not 25. This is my reputation, for what is worth:

Interesting number of followers, 1111, but has been growing quite slowly recently. It is probably related to the fact that I haven't been as "visible" as I used to be. Following 455 accounts... I probably would have followed a much lower number of accounts if I didn't do it for the "Week through Adrian's Lenses".

Well, I guess that's good enough for an overview. I'm not really interested in more details at this time.

On this occasion, I also pushed up the limit where hive.vote starts following curation trails I have active to 95% (from 90%, which was kind of low), to favor more manual voting, and I've set self-vote to false, an option hive.vote didn't have the last time I logged in, a long time ago. This prevents my account from self-voting as a result of following a curation trail, even though these situations were either rare or at very low weights anyway.

I see how you got the look on your stats. I switched to dark mode. #ctp

Ah, I should have mentioned that. It's from hivestats.io, mostly. You can also check your rank in various stats at HiveBuzz/ranking.

OK, @gadrian thank you! !BBH !CTP

I haven't checked mine in a while, and I'm sitting at under 8% curation APR. 255 a month is really nice, and I hope I can get somewhere close to that in the future. Following you, I see the effort you put in to reach that. Congrats.

Thanks, but to be honest, I like doing it for now, otherwise the time invested doesn't justify the return so far.

I'm sitting at under 8% curation APR

I was once below 8% which kind of worried me, knowing that the "normal" is between 8 and 9%. I adjusted some things then, based on where I had the worst curation results, and pumped it up a bit.

Well, I hope that when the bull comes, it will be justified as well.

Why not? It's +8% on top of the price increase of HIVE which many of us expect.

I'm honestly surprises by the number of your followers. I never paid attention to that number and even thought you may have even more followers than I do.

Well, we know that number doesn't tell the whole truth, as we can follow someone on-chain without formally following them...

But truthfully, I don't think I've focused on having more followers except a bit at first, coming from the Web 2 world...

What can I say, curating is what I prefer, creating takes time and most times you lose your knack for creating. Those aren't bad stats, but yeah they could be better. Overall hive means it seamless with everything we're capable of doing here. I just feel that low-key we've got one of the most functional chain in the Blockchain-verse

That's very true. While there isn't such a thing as a curation block, you can run into situations where you simply run out of ideas. Plus, as you said, it takes (more) time to create than to curate, in many cases, although we can find counter-examples too.

Those aren't bad stats, but yeah they could be better.

They surely can. To be honest, I haven't focused much on any of these stats, but maybe they'll need some attention.

It's certainly unparalleled in the social aspect, even though attempts to create other social blockchains and Web 2.5 tentatives continue to appear.

Takes about 3 to 5 minutes to consume a content and straight away you can just curate. I remember when I'd spend 2 hours just trying to make one post and it won't still be enough time.

Absolutely! For me, it's usually 2 hours minimum for a post. But I'm a slow writer from what I've seen from other cases too. I usually finish manually curating in less than 1 hour.

I got it the other way, curation mostly.

Author:
47.36 HP
$15.6

Curation:
348.62 HP
$114.8

I do like to upvote and interact with at least 5 people daily.

That's pretty good curation rewards! Well done, it looks like your engagement pays off.

I check it daily because I have to see daily that my daily position is not decreasing.

Wow! That's consistent. Your position on what stats?

I check my stats maybe once a week for my goals, but I don't check everything and I don't think I have viewed my stats for the past month much at all.

Yeah, I check them weekly too, but only the number of posts and comments from HiveBuzz. Don't track anything else atm.

This thing is very important but I don’t get to check it all the time
Thanks for the reminder

For newer accounts is even more important, because they can understand what works and what doesn't and focus on what works or fix some of the things that don't work.

Curating Also takes time if you want to do It manually and reward people

It doesn't take as much as writing full posts. At least not for me.

Oh I see CUB and POLYCUB @gadrian. Does everyone have CUB and POLYCUB? Thank you. #ctp

Not anymore. Most people burned them for LEO.

Oh OK @gadrian. I didn't know I had any PolyCub or Cub tokens. I didn't understand anything much at the time they burned them.

If you never used CubDefi.com, then you don't have either of them.

OK thank you @gadrian 😊👍
