Kanye West needs no introduction in the entertainment world. He is one of the most celebrated and best-selling American rappers of the 21st century and presidential candidate in the 2020 US presidential elections. In a recent 3 hour interview on the famous Joe Rogan show, West said that Bitcoiners know how to liberate humanity.

West belives that Jack Dorsey, the CEO of Twitter, was inspired to decentralize Twitter about two months before the pandemic hit because he (Jack) has been talking to some Bitcoin guys who believe in true decentralization and liberty for the people of the world. He went on to praise technology experts for using their knowledge to create the new frontier of our existence.

Apart from what West specifically said about Bitcoin and Bitcoiners, nevertheless, his interview with Joe Rogan reveals that he strongly believes that the present-day political system, as well as the financial system, in the United States is unfair and therefore racist. This corroborates the views West had earlier expressed in his 2018 interview with Charlamagne where he noted that the $20 dollar bill reminded him of slavery.

West is not the first famous US rapper to express support for Bitcoin. As far back as 2013, long before many people even heard the word Bitcoin, Snoop Dogg planned to make his record available to buy in bitcoin. Snoop reportedly sold each album for 0.3BTC back then but it is not clear how many album he sold while receiving bitcoin as payment.
