Saving on something pegged to dollar price won’t get you outta poverty. Real inflation is easily at least 10% - 20% and u end up even. Plus it’s taxable. I’m more open to HBD being more safe then I thought a year ago but it’s not getting anyone rich. The dollar is doomed. 20% a year before taxes on it and inflation isn’t gonna be that great a profit in my opinion. I’d rather hold Hive.

Believe it or not, but nowadays my pension-like income for my multiple disabilities is ~80 000 Hungarian Forint (HUF) per month, which is currently $211.92 USD per month, because $1 USD is currently 377.50 Hungarian Forint (HUF). My country's currency is much worse than the dollar. It is almost/nearly worthless. Literally every cent counts.
Fiat currency is like a bunch of horses racing for zero value. Dollar is furthest back right now indeed. But it’s going same direction fast. Plus the risk of loosing reserve currency status which is likely by 2030 or so. The dollar will not have a good decade.
I see what u mean though, if u can save easy from outside US with local currency in bad shape it’s a win. I gotcha. Good point
Thank you so much for the $1 HBD tip. A few minutes ago I transferred $1.34 HBD to savings. I currently have $327.21 HBD in savings.
This is true in Hungary too.
Nowadays the very good government securities are giving interest around 11.75% and 14.60% interest. For example the MÁP Plusz is giving around 3.50% and 6% interest. The starting interest of the Prémium (PMÁP) is 11.75%. The Bónusz (BMÁP) is giving 14.60% interest. As I currently know, these are the best low risk investments in my country. And all of them are lower than 20%. The 20% interest on the Hive Dollar (HBD) is probably exceptional worldwide.
