More than $26 million in Bitcoins associated with the break-in of Bitfinex crypt currency exchange in 2016 were moved in seven transactions on Wednesday. This was noticed by the Whale Alert bot on Twitter. The previous time the stolen assets from Bitfinex went into motion in August.

In the latter case, the volume of six transactions ranged from $4.1 million to $4.8 million, while one transaction was made for a smaller amount of $ 12,000. The damage from the attack exceeded 120,000 BTC or about $1.2 billion at today's exchange rate.

The criminals who attacked Bitfinex intensified in late July and early August. Bitfinex then published a new statement on the subject, promising a reward to someone who will help her return the Bitcoins. The company is also ready to pay off the hackers themselves if they voluntarily agree to return the crypt currency. Under the terms of the Bitfinex offer, the informant will receive 5% of the refunded amount, while the hackers themselves - 25%.

Four years later, the company continues to search for these assets. In total, with the assistance of U.S. law enforcement agencies, it managed to recover about 27 Bitcoins.

"This is a dark page in the history of our exchange. We are pleased to offer this award as further evidence of our intention to acquire lost property," she wrote.
