Think of a community. Several restaurants and several owners. Now picture how absurd things become when you want a Big Mac but you only have Burger King tokens. Becomes annoying for the consumer and all establishments lose customers.

Yep. In contrast to that, I just run into an Actifit X Splinterlands collab. Something I would hardly see coming. Yet I think it's a perfect example of creating synergy on the network:

I can tell you right now, if I would have been able to play Splinterlands inside Peakd, there's a stronger chance I would have got involved. Instead I won some cards once, found the site, and couldn't even get past the menu screen. Gave up.

The game is not that entertaining and people would hardly play it that much with no financial incentive, you're not missing much. But yes, I definitely agree with the cross-platform approach. Synergy is the key to success. We don't play against the others here, we're the same team.

I needed to buy something specific just to be able to open the packs. Needed to buy their money with my money first. Spent 30 minutes trying to figure out how and became impatient. Time that should have spent learning how to play.

I don't know when exactly did you tried to buy the Spellbook that's needed to play, but when I did it few years ago (in 2019 I believe), I simply paid it either in Hive or HBD, I don't remember exactly. It was smooth back then. Just like now:

By the way, you actually have cards there. They are woth like $15 now: https://peakmonsters.com/@nonameslefttouse/cards

As they are Alpha pack, they are rare and the price would likely only go up. I believe you can sell or rent them via peakmonsters even without having the spellbook to play.

Yeah I tried that renting thing once years ago and totally forgot about it. I really don't feel like micromanaging. That stuff can just sit there. As for the spellbook stuff, I think when I tried I didn't have enough "energy crystals."

And yes, same team. Currently using Threads but I shouldn't have to wear a uniform or dress like a lion just to post here. That stuff makes outsiders uncomfortable. Don't fit in by default so why try.

For the money :) It's microearnings, so the user-base reflects that :)

I've watched this "decentralized social" scene take shape since close to day one. Nearly every platform sits and talks about itself nonstop, especially at the start. If they don't break free from huddling around that stuff, it's a flop.
