Wallets are the real revolution of money.
Cryptocurrencies contained into them will be only withdrawable by you (or who holding the private keys/seeds). BUT, it is not like cash in the pocket or under the mattress. That money, can be inflated and can loose money in a few days/hours/weeks, like Venezuelan people have experienced in the last years.
They too had a rush to cryptos, because they are digital, they do not occupy space AND they are very hard to be detected at the frontier.
Here is the graphic of the purchasing trend of cryptocurrencies in Venezuela through a local exchange, that works P2P and could not be blocked.
