It is very easy process in Crypto to gift a token. All you need is the wallet address and you can gift the tokens. Lets taken an example of HIVE Blockchain - all I need is a wallet address to which I need to gift #HIVE tokens its that simple process. At the same time it stands true for any other blockchain you know the wallet address of the person whom you want to gift the tokens, just send the tokens to that address and your are done with gifting. When I saw this, I started thinking how cool it will be if we were to gift securities is it possible? Well now it is all possible with the help of ZERODHA which is one of the famous and the largest Indian stockbroking platform, known for low-cost trading, a simple app, and a DIY investing approach.

ZERODHA - How To Gift Securities....

In very simple terms - it is now all possible to gift your favourite stocks, ETFs, and gold bonds to your friends and family via ZERODHA. All we need here is a Zerodha account for both the parties involved here - the person gifting the securities and the person receiving them. To gift stocks on Kite [is Zerodha’s App], follow the following steps:

Log in to Kite.
Click on Holdings.
Hover over the security to be gifted and click on Options.
Click on Send as a gift.
Enter the gift receiver's name, mobile number, email address ( is optional), and gift message (is optional).
Click on Continue.
Select the securities that are to be gifted.
Enter the quantity.
Click on Confirm & send.

Once we have clicked SEND - Zerodha will be sending an email and SMS notification to the recipient requesting they accept the gift within 7 days. This is an important step from the receiver side to accept the request. And once the gift request is accepted then there is a notification sent to the gifter of the securities via an email and SMS requesting to confirm the recipient’s identity and then finally transfer of stocks using the CDSL TPIN. And that should be it for gifting the securities via Zerodha. Frankly speaking when I came across that there exists this process of gifting securities, I was very happy and to be honest I am yet to try it out. As I explained in this blog post, the process seems simple one just need to get familiar with it, and that’s all. Overall, I think this is a step forward, making gifting securities more seamless, user-friendly, and accessible for everyone.
