Off the top of my head two of your greatest Brazilian footballers ... Zico and Socrates were white
but you know that because you like soccer hehehehe a nonsoccer person associates Brazil with soccer and players with coloured skins. And it isn't a lie because I lived in two different cities in Canada and heard these types of things that I mentioned hehehee

Hehehe I grew as a kid in a good era after these players that you mentioned, the 80s were bad for our team like right now hehe. I grew with Romario being the king of 94, I met some students in University that didn't know Romario
It is interesting that probably if you ask around in Brazil about Zico and Socrates the kids under 30 or 20s never heard about them
Yeah same in most countries I think, unless a small country with hardly any world stars, then they would know them regardless of their age..
2/🧵 I love playing and watching soccer but for sure I wouldn't be able to get a position in a professional team. And also I am Caucasian which isn't the prevalent ethnic group in Brazil. But still, people are surprised that there are Caucasians there.
3/🧵 People also think that I live near the Amazon forest. But Brazil is too big and my city is far from the Amazon forest, I have never been there by the way, despite of I was always curious to visit it. @intishar @george-dee tell me your stereotypes.
4/🧵 When they heard that I am from Rio de Janeiro, they imagined that Simpsons episode with a monkey stealing people, so many monkeys in town. Yeah, we have monkeys near the woods area but not crossing a street downtown.
What should I say? Let people think what they want to think and and you should not feel worried too much about it. In life we face many situation like that. So, just forget it.
