Rylie Part 2

Delia finally woke up feeling better, except for a minor tummy ache. She had to take a second to gather her bearings. She checked her cell phone to see what time and what day it was. Floored, she looked around for Rylie. What had happened? Why was it Friday afternoon when she can't even remember Thursday night.? Champagne glasses were overturned on the carpet, and an untouched meal sat waiting to be consumed, now cold and stiff.

I can't even remember celebrating my anniversary. Delia got up. She walked into the living room and saw that the door was wide open. Rylie was nowhere to be seen. Delia hurried back into her bedroom to see if maybe there was some kind of note. She did not see one. She went into the bathroom and immediately wished she hadn't. The stench of sick was all over the place. Throw-up was all over the floor and all over the toilet. Delia took a double take before she hurried out. Oh my God! What happened?

Delia hurried back to her room and grabbed her cell phone and dialed Rylie's number. It rang until it hit his voice mail. She left a message for him to call her. She hung up and hurried into the kitchen and grabbed a bottle of bleach, made a bucket of water, grabbed two rags, and fished for a mop. With all the materials needed to clean a mansion, Delia went back into the bathroom and scrubbed that thing down. She had that bathroom spic and span in two hours. She sprayed the air with Lysol and then went into the bedroom and cleaned it up. She took the dishes and went back into the kitchen and washed all the dishes and dumped the food. Again thoughts went to Rylie.

Delia went back to her cell phone and checked her messages. Rylie had called and had left a voice message. She dialed her voice mail and was immediately horrified. On the other end was a crying Rylie.

"Help me Delia! Help me. I'm scared." His voice was so scratchy and raspy. He sounded as though he had not had anything to drink in over forty eight hours. He sounded terrified and slightly off.

Was this some sort of prank, Delia asked herself. Rylie was a schemer. He loved playing practical jokes, especially on Delia, but ....... never anything like this.

She texted her boyfriend and demanded he cut it out. Then, she called his parents to see if they knew where he was.

No answer. She left a voice message with them then hung up. She called Rylie again and waited.

No answer. At the tone, she left a voice message and asked him to quit playing around and to call her back as soon as possible. She iterated that she was extremely worried and needed to hear from him. She explained also that she could not even remember last night and needed him to clarify what had happened.

She hung up and then made a few calls over to some friends and still got nothing. She called a few hang out spots people knew Rylie as a regular, all to no avail.

Why am I even calling these places? Delia asked herself. Rylie now lived in the city. Nobody knew us here. And Delia knew her and Rylie were two hours from home.

Nobody had heard from Rylie since yesterday morning. Nobody! Delia was on edge. She thought about fishing for her keys and searching out the area. The neighbors in this apartment complex!! Maybe they know something.

Delia grabbed her keys and raced across the halls. She knocked on every door she saw and talked to all the neighbors. Noone had seen Rylie. Lots of people claimed he was the best looking guy they had seen in a long time, and would know if they had seen him. Plus, Delia noted, everyone loved seeing her and Rylie together. They were still in that honeymoon stage where nothing bothered them and their in love spirit was contagious. Even at the park, Delia remembered seeing several couples looking at them and smiling. So Delia knew they were telling her the truth. Unfortunately, she still felt it was odd that nobody had seen or heard from Rylie since yesterday morning.

Delia went back to her apartment feeling dejected. She plopped herself down in Rylie's favorite leather armchair and waited for another call or text, praying it was all a joke.

"Why hello little lady," a sexy baritone voice rang out. Delia looked up from raking the backyard, and saw the most gorgeous guy she had ever laid eyes on, staring back with a gorgeous model looking smile. Delia couldn't even remember seeing teeth so white.

Embarrassed, Delia smiled back. "Hey." She looked at this guy. "You must be our new neighbors."

The gorgeous boy responded. "I'm one of them." He smiled flirtatiously. Delia felt the blood rise up in her cheeks. "You sure do know how to flirt!" she said.

The boy looked back her way. He winks. "Well thank you." His smile was so flirtingly bestowed, with an air of trouble. Delia's heart swooned.

"I'm Delia," she said.

"Rylie, pleasure to make your acquaintance," he replied. He walked over into Delia's yard, after effortlessly climbing over her fence.

"My God, how did you do that? You literally just flipped over my fence.!?"

Rylie looked at her.

"Oh, my parents made me take gymnastics when I was younger. Backflips and such are no problem."

Delia had to fight to keep from dropping her jaw.

"You sound like you're a straight A' student," she said. "And such?
