Estimated Ad Revenue For LeoFinance & Hive.blog

We haven't seen a new LeoAds Report for some time now and I am sure it is due to Projectblank, CUB and all the other things the LEO-team is working on. However, I figured that I could write up an estimation of the Ad Revenue we've had along with making an estimation for the Ad Revenue Hive.blog would have..

I have never been bothered with the Ads we see on LeoFinance.io and I wouldn't mind Hive.blog or other interfaces showing Ads if they did it similar to LeoFinance. In fact, I would be in favor of showing Ads, as the revenue could be used to improve certain things. For instance, you could use it to buy & burn tokens.

That being said, there's many factors for Ad Revenue and I'll use the previous LeoAds reports along with my previous traffic reports to estimate the Ad revenue we've had on LeoFinance and what we could have on Hive.blog.

Estimating Ad Revenue

Hive.blog had a total of 49.2K unique visits in February 2021. It was 15.52% less than the month before but the total volume of traffic was 131.2K visits which was +6.20% compared to January.

LeoFinance.io had 7.1K unique visits and the total was 26.5K visits. Roughly 50% less than the traffic it generated in January 2021.

By looking at the older LeoAds reports we can see that the Ad Revenue has been around $700 per month with 200,000+ impressions and somewhere between 150-220 clicks. In the December + January Ad Report we can see that the impressions where almost 500K with 342 clicks. That was $1297 in Ad Revenue.

We can also see within that report that the two months were nearly identical to November.

We already know that the traffic to LeoFinance decreased in February by roughly 50% compared to the month before so we could make things very simple and just divide the Ad Revenue by 2. That gives us a rough estimation for February. I would need a bit more in-depth statistics to calculate things properly, but my personal guesstimation will be: ~$575 in Ad Revenue for February.

I don't have access to traffic details for March yet, so it's impossible to make an estimation right now.

Anyhow, that leads us to Hive.blog and the estimated Ad Revenue for February. Hive.blog had ~5x more traffic than LeoFinance in February, with ~7x more unique visits.

We can see that Hive.blog would generate roughly 5x-7x more Ad Revenue than LeoFinance, which would be approximately $3500-$4700 per month based on the previous numbers for LeoFinance.

Ad Revenue varies though due to CPM, which basically is how much you will get for X amount of traffic. With Hive.blog having a lot more traffic than LeoFinance, we can also see that Hive.blog has a lot more tier 1 traffic, which is the traffic that will pay you the most.

Traffic Details For Hive.blog:

  • United Kingdom - 24.38%
  • Pakistan - 16.86%
  • United States - 16.68%
  • Germany - 13.00%
  • Venezuela - 3.94%

Traffic Details For LeoFinance.io

  • United States - 47.40%
  • Canada - 14.21%
  • Slovenia - 11.62%
  • Venezuela - 9.66%
  • Pakistan - 6.96%

Even though this is nothing more than an estimation, my guess is that Hive.blog would generate approximately $5000 per month if we had Ads placed similar to how LeoFinance has set them up. And it is very likely to increase over time as we will see more and more traffic.

If you ask me, that's a decent amount of money that costs you nothing but a couple of Ads here and there.

I remember turning off my brave shields in the past for LeoFinance but for some reason, it was back on today when I checked. I turned it back off and I personally do not mind watching ads on LeoFinance. I guess it may of got toggled back on when the browser was updated or something.

That is most certainly the reason for it to be on again. I'm glad this post reminded you to check. :)

Nowadays most people are using adblockers, but this still would be very good.

Yeah, LeoFinance still has ~$600 monthly in Ad Revenue, even though people are using Adblockers.

That is a detailed report.
In my modest opinion, income is not important at this stage of growth, the important thing is to grow. On the internet, volume is everything and if you get enough influence in the market the income will come. That's what happens with all the tech startups that triumph.

Well, what I have presented above is just an estimation of the Ad Revenue LeoFinance have had, and what Hive.blog could potentially have. Imagine Hive.blog pulling in $5K monthly in Ad Revenue.. That could be $5K worth of marketing for instance, which would lead to growth.

It'll be very interesting to revisit this at the end of April when we will have had a full month (hopefully!) of Hive at significantly higher prices, suggesting usage is going to be higher... if history is anything to go by. If you look at @penguinpablo's stats, there are already signs of increasing activity.

My main concern with ads is that it's a model that's becoming increasingly deprecated due to ad blockers, making me wonder how long we can even count ads as revenue sources.

That is a very good point, but it has worked really good on/for LeoFinance.io so far. At least according to me. I mean an average of about $650 per month that goes straight to buying & burning tokens is a pretty good thing for the platform.
