RE: When “Weird” is Beauty

Some people "get it", music that is. Others manifest it. Some just have it as background noise.

The one thing that I love about music is that it crosses borders. I know what a sad song is, even if I don't understand the words. Its in the minors, and the arrangement, the pacing, the breathing of the thing.

The layers. Art. Well written and engrossing post.

Maybe one day I will delve into the science of “how” with the circle of fifths and all that, but the “why” is an almost spiritual question.

What a magnificent universe it is where all particles are vibrating and dancing in harmony and in dissonance.

I could never wrap my head around the circle of fifths. It is not a priority (to me) at the present moment, but that is about where my education got up to when it came to music.

I get into music theory only when I’m looking for new things to explore but honestly just the modes of the major scale and triads on guitar and recording software are enough for me to spend a lifetime exploring possibilities with.

Maybe I’ll get bored at some point or want to try something new so I guess it’s nice to have that waiting for me
