On the contrary, it was one of the best experiences I've had (I was 23). While I was timid, I learned to make acquaintances and good friends. And even when I was away from home, we were still connected with my family (virtually, that is) so it didn't feel like a long time.

that's interesting. Most people travel above and get home sick. I guess it boils down to how well one settles. Most people don't find it easy in a new country. Good to know your experience was positive
The homesickness is there but it depends on how one handles it. I was lucky that the company plus the people I worked with were welcoming.
