Yeah, at 72 I'm Still HPUD'ing

HivePUD is one event or initiative here that has become a vital part of Hive journey. Why so? It's keeping me grow, well technically not me, but my Hive account. It is one practice that turned into a habit after I hopped on to it last year and had stuck with me ever since.

Today marks my 14th month participating on the initiative and also the 397th on my daily streak of powering up at least 1 HIVE. So yay! I'm patting my own back for that.

Speaking of growth, my Hive Power increased by 498 in the month of January via:

• Daily manual staking: 237 HP
• HP rewards: 261 HP

The sum represents a little over 6% increase which is quite decent although it is below my monthly average target of at least 600 HP. Still, this addition throughout the month is helping me get closer to my year-end goal of 15k Hive Power. Prior to today's power up, my HP was at 8,142 and adding a level 3 (100 HIVE) made it to 8,242 HP.

For personal tracking, my last month's Hive Power came from the following:

• Post Rewards (50% HP): 259
• Curation Rewards: 35
• HIVE bought and staked: 202
  Others from delegation rewards etc.

Thanks to the recent pump of HBD on the internal market, I was able to secure a bit more liquid HIVE which I will be using on my daily staking this February. I'm now thinking about how to catch up with my monthly HP goal and hopefully be able to do something about it as the days progress. It might get harder if the price of HIVE soars in the coming months so it is better to have some strategies in place if I want to see my target HP become a reality on my account by the end of 2023.

Anyway, if you are new and wondering what HivePUD or HPUD is, it is a community event that happens every first of the month where users are encouraged to stake or power up at least 10 HIVE as a way to increase our account's Hive Power which consequently benefit us in more ways than one, re:

• Grow our influence in terms of voting power and vote weight and value when curating which results to higher or better curation rewards.
• Increase our Resource Credits which are needed when transacting (posting, commenting, engaging, curating etc) around this blockchain.
• As a way to save for the long run since Hive Power increases by 2.91% APR which is better than a Savings Account in any bank.
• We may win one of the HPUD delegation prizes which could be a big boost to our account.

Or in simple terms, it is how we grow and thrive in the Hive ecosystem and potentially earn more rewards too.
