This is the 2nd largest mosque in the Philippines while 3rd in Southeast Asia. It can accommodate 15000 people. This is located in Cotabato City, where the seat of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region is.

It was believed by many that Sultan Bolkiah of Brunei donated the amount for its construction, but based on research only 58% of the cost was donated by him while the rest was funded by the Philippine government under the administration of the The Late President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino. Cotabatenos call it "Grand Mosque" but officially, it is named Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque.

15,000 people? That's like a whole small town's worth of worshippers. I love the architecture and atmosphere. I'd love to visit this place someday, I am sure the picture did not do justice to the breathtaking sight that awaits me.

I live in a small town, and you could fit our whole population in 1/5th of that mosque!
