I think holding asset for long term in any exchanger is not a wise idea. If you are holding asset for long term means you are holding it for a good amount of profit. So, I think for safety we need to ready to bear the transaction fee.
It's just my opinion.

Yeah true. Keep only a minimum amount of funds inside the exchange. Otherwise there is always a risk.
