Hive Engine Guide for Beginners

The Hive engine is confusing if you're just new to crypto. Multiple tabs in Hive Engine will bring you to different pages and it is good to know the purpose of each tab. In this article, I will teach you the use of all the tabs in your Hive Engine.

What is Hive Engine?

Hive Engine is a trading platform where you can buy & sell tokens that are listed in it. Most tokens listed in Hive Engine are NFT tokens and Reward Tokens. Top Coins like Bitcoin, ETH, BNB, and many more can be traded here.

How to use Hive Engine?

First You need a Hive Keychain Extension in your browser and a Hive Account. If you still don't have one, Click the link and Follow the Instructions.

After Creating a Hive User name account and installing Hive Keychain App or Wallet Extension,
Go to Hive Engine Sign-in Page https://hive-engine.com/
Make sure that you already have the Hive Keychain installed so signing in would be easy
Enter your registered Hive User name and click the enter Icon


Hive Engine Wallet Tab

If you can't see any tokens in your wallet tab, that is because you don't have any tokens yet.

The main token that is used for buying and selling is the Hive Token.

Hive Engine Tokens Tab

Under this tab, you will see all the tokens listed in Hive Blockchain. Meaning you can trade these tokens with other tokens.

Information button

Click this button if you want to know something about the token.

The information button gives you information such as

  • The issuer of the token
  • Official Website of the Token
  • Description of the Token
  • and many more.

Trading button

The trading button will direct you to that token's market page.

This button will take you to the tokens Market Place.

On this page, you have the option to buy or sell your token at market price or your desired price.

Buy / Sell at Market Price

To buy or sell tokens in their current market value click the market price, and indicate the quantity that you want to buy. Automatically the total value you will get if you're selling or you need to pay when you're buying will appear inside the total box.

Click the buy or sell button and confirm with your keychain wallet. The balance indicator across the buy or sell button is the number of Hive in your Hive Engine Wallet.

Buy / Sell at Limit Price

To buy or sell at your desired price, click the limit tab and enter the desired amount you prefer to buy or sell tokens. After that, enter the total tokens you wish to buy or sell. The total amount you will spend or receive will appear inside the total box. Click the buy or sell button and confirm with your keychain wallet.

Market Tab

The market tab is the same as when you click the trade button of a token, it will direct you to the Market page where you can buy or sell the token. To change the token, click the tab in the upper left corner, and a dropdown menu will appear where you can choose the token you like to trade.

History Chart

Aside from buying and selling, you can also use the market tab to see the past daily market value of a token. The time can be set to hourly or daily.
You can also set the chart to candle, depth, or volume if you like.

Buy and Sell List

below the Trading area, you can see a list of token prices with quantities that are currently listed for buying and selling.

The price indicates the users desired price for the tokens they wish to buy or sell. The ones listed here are tokens at limit price

Swap Tab

The Swap tab can be used if you don't have Hive tokens or you don't want to use your Hive token to trade. instead, you will use other tokens to trade for another token.

Simply pick your token from the upper tab and select the token you want to receive from the lower tab.

After inputting both tokens, the Pop up will now show a new menu where you can input the quantity you wish to trade.

Upon entering the quantity, the amount of the tokens that you want to receive will show.

The FAQ Tab

Use the FAQ tab if you want to learn more about Hive Engine.

The Explorer Tab

Use the Explorer tab if you want to view all the transactions made by your User name. Just type in your user name and click Search. If you want to be specific, input the Ticker of the Token that you want to search.

Create A Support Ticket

Creating a Support ticket is used when you think something wrong happened with your transaction.

Example:
The trade has been delayed for too long.
Click the Create a support ticket icon.

Choose a help topic in the dropdown menu.

Write the needed information regarding your concern.

Submit the report and wait for their response.
Usually, they respond immediately and they will try to solve your problem as best as they could.
