It's been a while since I had last time posted on the platform, been on a journey discovering different platforms and projects that varied from games to exchanges.
Today I would like to go deeper into Theta Network and Guardian Nodes, Theta Network being a content delivery network (CDN) for the most part with integrated smart contract capabilities. Let's just say that Theta Network allows people to share their bandwidth with others and get rewarded for that. Now that we know what the network does let's hop into the Guardian Nodes.
Guardian and Validator Nodes operate as masternodes for many other tokens/currencies like PIVX and Dash, just look at it as a servers that are run by different people to make sure everything goes smoothly and all activity is authentic. Validator nodes are the core of the network that create new blocks of data and validate them while Guardian Nodes are like security department which you go through in airports detecting fraud and passing on only legitimate traffic. Unfortunately I have not found a way to approximate APY/APR gains that one could have, I have heard that Theta Fuel inflation is between 3-5% per year.
Q: Okay sounds great but how does it affect me?
A: You can run a Guardian Node (or Validator Node) and get rewarded with Theta Fuel (TFuel) which can be exchanged on Binance only at the time of writing.
Q: What are the requirements?
A: At least 10,000 THETA Tokens staked on your wallet ,at least 5 Mbps bandwidth both up and down + 4 Core processor with 8 GB RAM.
