In Kampala where I hail from;when you talk about hacking,they immediately sense the danger of associating with the internet and everything around it.
From social media accounts and some few who might sense the idea of losing money. But I bet,few understand the extent of how dangerous hacking is and it's domino effects.
If you have been in crypto for a minute,you might have heard of the phrase, 'not your keys,not your coins'
'Not your keys,not your coins' simply means that if you don't possess it,you don't own it. (Some legal minds can argue with respect to morals)
Just a few days,the following attacks have happened to crypto;
•Harmony attacked with loses worth $100m
•Nomad bridge hacked for $190m and it could spill to the cardano bridges
•Over 8000 Solana wallets attacked.
•GitHub was also attacked
The good news that came out recently was that the Ronin bridge got back online after a hack where North Korea was allegedly involved.
Ultimately,you need to be extra careful when dealing with #crypto storage. You are strongly advised to use a hardware offline wallet(I will explore some other ways,some other day) when storing your crypto.
Remember,
'not your keys, not your coins'
