I would totally love to see this kind of project on Hive but I do not see how this could ever get funded via DAO Proposal.
If you add up HP of all people potentially interested in the project, it probably does not add up enough to pass the Return Proposal. The smaller the budget, the smaller the chance big voters read it if it is off-topic for them.
If people thumbed the proposals up and down, this kind of stuff could have a shot and ridiculous stuff could always get sent back down when close to funding.
Go ahead pitching the idea to people but expect to crowdfund outside the DAO. I could see myself chipping in.
After looking deeper into it you're definitely right. I do think that pitching it will help as you said. I'll keep posting about it as I make progress!
