Splinterland Brawls are a guild event where you can earn merits and SPS. This post serves as a way for me to review how my fights went and as a reminder to sign up for the next brawl. I have missed brawls in the past and it hurts when gladius cards can now be used in ranked battles using the soulbound summoners.
Brawl Result
I choose the gold foil modern brawl and I got 3 wins and 1 losses. My rewards for the brawl were 1,350 merits and 17.662 SPS in the 2 star category. It's kind of weird but I see that my merits went down but the SPS rewards went up. It seems to have correlation in terms of rewards. My guild ranked 5th place out of the 10 guilds there and this was slightly worst than last time. We were only 1 win off from being rank 4. I choose to take the gold foil modern brawl because my guild usually doesn't fill all their spots and I prefer to give my other guild members a chance at the brawls.
Brawl fights
There were 2 fights that I won, 1 that I lost, and 1 that did not submit their match. So I included an idea of what the match was below along with a few thoughts about it.
You can find the first match here. I lost this match and the difference in speed was too much for me. My opponent just did way too much damage and I couldn't do much against his lineup.
You can find the second match here. I won this match and my summoner helped quite a bit. The flying monsters were great at dodging my opponent's attacks and it gave me more buffer in this match. Then my magic monsters did most of the damage and the bloodlust was kind of amazing. It killed off a lot of my opponents and it sped up the fight towards the end.
You can find the third match here. I won this match and it was a risky match. If my Venari Crystalsmith didn't dodge an attack toward the end, I think I would have lost this match. I had some fairly good luck and none of my attacks missed either during this match. My lineup was more defensive and it could have easily backfired on me.
Conclusion
I think doing 4 fights for 1,350 merits and 17.662 SPS is a pretty good reward for the effort. Compared to last time, my performance was better this time around and I at least won more than half of my matches. The SPS rewards are up this time around and the merits are down compared to my previous brawl. I think brawls are a great way of earning SPS and merit for the number of battles you participate in. So I think it is worthwhile for people to participate in these brawls. My current brawls are in the two-star category.

That's quite a sacrifice you continually make for your guild, I also don't like the GF frays because I don't have many GF cards.

Yea. I just do the GF brawls because most people won't touch them otherwise. So I just do what I can with what I have.
