I don't think I have heard of BitPay since Coinbase was already an easy alternative. But I do think this will increase the number of competitors going into the crypto space. Mainly because more options is always better than having no option.

    Coinbase is an exchange, Bitpay is a payment provider. Through Coinbase you can buy or sell crypto, with BitPay you can use your crypto to buy & sell other stuff.

    more options is always better than having no option.

    That's correct! One would enjoy having multiple options to choose from.
