I found a guide about Splinterlands tournaments. It's another way to earn DEC without worrying about ranked battles but you generally only earn DEC from ranking well enough. I use to do them quite a bit when I started and its definitely helped me learn the game.

There are a lot of ways to earn from that game it seems and I am going to guess they will keep adding to it.

I have played in a number of tournaments. They are very competitive and not always easy to win! It is a good way to make some DEC though.
