I think one of the biggest problems is how the view of people has changed in the US over time. An issue such as anti-war was considered to be on the left but now its considered on the right. With the way media has subverted people's mind and they are also calling to strip away our rights. You mentioned guns above but at the direction we are going, it is going to be illegal for any of us citizens to have guns. I honestly think certain states should have their own laws. For example, someone in a more rural area would have to worry about the boars and a gun is needed. While someone in the city might not require a gun.

What you are describing is in the air I believe. There is a lot of dissent out there. The question is how does it get resolved. We are not likely to see a peaceful outcome considering how polarized things are. This means that we are confronted by the threat of violence.

When people had enough, they tend to react in some forceful ways. This is magnified when there are large numbers of people who fall into this category.
