Do you think it could be part of their ease into the cryptospace? They could possibly have it covered by the custodial services so its not really their money.

If that is their custodial service, that is pretty pathetic. Think about it, that could be one client.
I have a feeling they were just getting their toes wet, seeing how it all went. A bit of exposure before a bigger leap into it.
