A little over a week ago, the CTP team released a new content discovery platform called Veews and I am giving my feedback on the platform after testing it out. I didn't have too much time so I checked it out over the weekend and then did some more review of the platform after it launched. The goal of this platform is to help people find content that they might be interested in on Hive because the search features aren't the best here.
Veews
A basic rundown of the platform can be found in the introduction post of veews. The platform is easy to log into and it was easily done through Hive Keychain. I really don't like all the Hive Signer logins so this is a good thing for me.

The first thing that you are supposed to do is to click on the categories so the machine can have a head start to introduce posts to you. These posts are things that have been posted in the past 7 days so people can still vote on them. I had an issue here picking categories but refreshing the page seems to solve this issue.
The posts will open up and then you can vote thumbs up or down for more of this content to be posted to you. I do think the algorithm does get better but it takes a while. The more you give feedback to the machine, it will also improve and it should give you more content that you want.

It also has active updates and features. So it should get better as more people use the platform and report any suggestions/bugs to them.
Bugs
I found a bug when trying to pick categories after signing in using keychain. No matter how much I click, I could not get the category to be added into Veews until I refreshed the page. It's not a big issue and all I had to do was refresh but it was still annoying. From all the posts I saw, categories were important and I couldn't get the category to be added when I first used the platform.

Another bug I saw is with the ability to open up the post in another platform and my choice is obviously LeoFinance. However, not every single post has the LEO tag so that would not show up in LeoFinance. So it will open up the post and it won't exist on the LEO Platform.
Some minor issue that I saw was the vote recording button seems to have a lag every now and then. I clicked it multiple times and it took a while for it to register. The 2nd time I saw this, I decided to just wait and it did register maybe 5 seconds later. Another thing I saw is the high amount of somee posts that I saw and downvoted (inside the platform and not on Hive). They just keep showing up and the platform might not learn very fast.
Conclusion
I think it works well as a content discovery option and it does work out to find new people that you usually don't find. There are some bugs but that is to be expected with a new platform in testing. I also submitted the two bugs and a suggestion for a report bug button on the home page.

It is running a bit slow the last two days. I think they are working on moving things around for scaling.

That might be the case because I think it was responsive over the weekend but it wasn't as responsive earlier today. It's still a beta so it's fine if it's slow though.

I should dedicate some time to Veews daily for content discovery and maybe I will find new creators whose content might interest me. Good that we are having options on Hive.

You can always give it a try. It might take some time for the algorithm to get your preferences. So give it some time and see how things go. Even if you voted/commented on an older post, you should still use the thumbs up and down near the top of the screen to let the algorithm know your preferences.
