Some content just strike a chord with you, you get hooked giving it a read, every bit of it. finguru put up a post the other day; I Have Bills To Pay & Poverty To Escape! it was a piece I enjoyed reading, I could relate, I saw similar pattern of goals to achieve and what needs doing to exit the rat race.
I have always want life to be comfortable, I want to be able to afford what I want, do whatever I want, help those in need of help without financial limitation. The reality though is, my life haven't turned out to be the way I want it. Am I giving up on my dream? far from it!
The pursuit of happiness, exiting the rat race eventually led me to stumbling upon crypto. There's that connection with myself and crypto that only few feel, it is that connection that made me fall down the crypto rabbit hole, a hole I don't want to get out of if you ask me. It might interest you to know crypto has become a hobby to me, again this is another line from @finguru's post that resonate with me.
crypto is a hobby that would eventually pay me more than my jobs and break me free forever!
I was chatting offline with a fellow Hive community member the other day and she said
you are always happy with everything, I remember how happy you are when Hive hit 1$
Basically she sees the expression on my face lit up each time I talk about Hive, and new developments on the chain. I do this subconsciously, a reflection of how crypto have become a hobby to me.
I am in a stage in my life at the moment where I have been able to identify the win factor for me in relation to giving the rat race an exit, I prioritize my time on Hive over some lousy job. Last week, I was called for a job that will take me 3-4 days to do but I'll have to wait for payment for about a month or two. I gave my terms and conditions,
give me a list of what you want me to do, I will send you my quote and you pay me, I am not interested in waiting months for payment
and he never got back to me, which am very content with, I'd rather earn some tokens being active here than go slave my ass off for someone else.
The fact here is, my job have never been able to generate me what I now own in crypto asset-wise, which makes it simple for me to channel my time and energy into what pays me more.
An advantage of being on Hive is you don't need to be some investment guru for growth in your finance, the system itself just keeps compounding you stake, all you have to do is show up everyday, learn from the community what is working and apply it, mind your business, no need for showing off to impress others and grow slowly.

Some think that changing lives is a future endeavor, but here we are changing our own lives and lifting up others each day.
That's part of the reason I think the communication platforms are as important as the DEFI, make friends, help each other, thrive, and most importantly learn.

There's just no community out there that I know of compared to what we have here. It just amazing how we show up here everyday and the impact is growth in our finances and forming meaningful relationships.

Currently, crypto allows me to actually have savings and investments for the first time; none of the work I have ever had allowed me to do much more than just "survive." I might get to "$1,000 ahead" and then the car would break, or there'd be a roof leak, or the water heater needed replacing... and back to point zero.
Here, we have an opportunity to go above our old limitations, and that's pretty amazing!

Isn't that annoying, to just survive? That is the life we have lived all our lives growing up, we get limited from reaching our full potential just to survive, put food on the table and pay bill repeatedly.

I can very well relate to this piece. I have been doing this full time for the past 4years and it has been amazing. Earning a living doing what you love is so fulfilling and I would not trade that for a 9-5. Thankfully I have people in my life who understand my passion and are willing to support me.

That is an aspect which isn't common and doesn't get much support out there especially when it involves crypto, it becomes more easy when people around you supports you.

Hahaha, it's the, he never got back to me, got me laughing hard.
How on earth will you do a job that takes 3- 4 days and end up waiting for a month before you get paid, that's absurd. Has he ever thought about how you are coping with the economic downfall? I mean, he may end up paying you that money in after one month only for you to realize that such money has no value for what it would have served now.
I guess it is fun and fulfilled when we know what we are doing and good enough it works for us, we would not be able to hold back our joy because we feel fulfilled about everything we are doing.
Although I have just been on Hive for a few months, I agree with you, Hive is a lifesaver.
My struggle today is to live a comfortable life and be able to do what I need to do with money but it keeps getting harder each passing day, especially with the way our economy is becoming tight and the fast revolution of the world.
Indeed, what is applicable offline is also applicable online.
Mind your business and grow, it's important and necessary.

And till this very moment he still never got back to me, the truth is that is the situation I am currently in now, I get projects where you will have to finance it, get it done and then wait 2-3 months to get paid by these Chinese Huawei that have come to disrupt the telecommunication industry in South Africa and in other African countries where they operate.
That is just another ugly situation I am having to deal with, like you said it gets tougher and tougher, a better choice I think for us is to keep matching on.

Thing is, you have a job, I don't even have a job hahaha the last gig I did, I talked about how I was only able to save $500 working for 7 years, it's crazy how we look at jobing in reality and the time and effort is worth less than what crypto has been able to do for us

Crypto definitely is a game changer, just a pity so many people I know, just don't want to give it a try. (I have been quiet for some time, but basically it is like you say, just show up and do 1 post, and interact a little with others and you will grow your stake!!)
