older cards being stripped of most of their use case

Yeah, this doesn't get talked much about but people paid through the nose during the hype phase for the old cards so I hope the team does something to keep the values of old cards up.

I don't think there is much that can be done to save the ones who simply paid way too much during the hype phase. Right now though, there is no mechanic in the game whatsoever for older cards that are really powerful with a limited supply to become really valuable in case there is another adoption wave as Modern is the place where all the new players go to.

The core model of the game right now pretty much is to buy a shitton of packs and see the value of those cards in a systematic downfall afterward while you play with them and earn only a small part of the value they drop back by playing the game while devs rake in the real money.

It just doesn't make sense to hold card assets as a potential long-term investment similar to something like Pokemon cards. That really needs to be fixed one way or another. New players also never going to have the chance to play with many of those older cards and it's also inevitable for many of the new cards to be very similar which now already is the case often.

I still think a great solution would be to have draft mode where part of the entry fee will go to those who stake their cards making the old ones with limited supply that are powerful good earners increasing their value.

Card prices have seen an accelerated decline the past weeks and next up is pretty much a lot more inflation from a full set of 96 new cards while there is nothing really to bring in new players. How do they expect players to unload to buy Rebellion.
