We finally got back on track today and managed to do our show..Right on time!

Miracles, I know...

In Episode 33 (ish) we continued to drool over Splinterlands and everything it's bringing to this blockchain and beyond. Heck we even got @taskmaster4450 to play a few rounds of the game as well....

And then we dove into HBD, and how it could be one of the best tools you will find that labels itself a 'DeFi' project....Heck if there is anything decentralized...It's Hive!

Hope you enjoy the show :)

I really love the possibilty to get 10% from Hbd savings. I tend to sell my DEC from Splinterlands and transform it into HBD and put it on savings. Once the Splinterlands FOMO is over, DEC will go back to around 1$ I believe and then I can use HBD to buy packs of the new collection. In the meanwhile I get 10% APR on it...

Yeah the pumps in Splinterlands are fun, but I'm sitting here itching to buy new GFLs LOL But right now...These prices are crazy!

Hmm, higher DEC value also means lower price in DEC...

That's totally true of course. In my opinion the DEC price won't hold at this level. Once FOMO is out a bit it will drop somewhere around 1$. That's why I cash out DEC and put it in HBD since I can't buy any packs at the moment :-)

I agree. DEC is pumped, will slowly go down, and HBD is a good option if you want to hold off until the new edition is out. Although it has to be at least one month of holding HBD until you receive interest, and we know the presale is in September, but without an exact date. But I took advantage of the DEC wide movements to sell and buy some cards on the secondary market.

I just told @panmonagas about HBD!
It's the bees knees!! I need moar!

It's the gift that keeps on giving lol

This might be asking a lot because I know it can take a lot of time to do. I'd seriously love to watch the whole thing but time ya know lol. Is it possible to have a few time stamps that reflect to when a new topic is discussed?

If I understand the post correctly, then there are only two topics are being discussed in this podcast episode. Splinterlands and HBD.

Yeah man, let me see what I can swing. I really wanna get this podcast out there more and that would help for sure.

very good chapter, maybe in the next one you can talk about how to properly promote Hive and its community?

Great suggestion...I'll see if we can dive into it this week!

that will be great man, very nice show! 😎

Great show guys. Sprinterlands is growing by leaps and bounds.

Thank you sir, appreciate you tuning in :)

A lot of splinterlands today. It does seem like taskmaster is just fumbling on the game.

I mean...If Task is even PLAYING the game now, you know it's big LOL

For now staking rewards is just for... staking SPS in the game. Right now it looks like it's over 800% APR (going down as more SPS is staked). Rewards will start in a few hours. A bit like on defi, I guess. Except the unstaking period is not immediate, it's similar to many Hive-Engine tribes, 4 weeks, 25% per week.

Summary:
The episode featured a vibrant and engaging conversation between Jon and Task exploring various facets of Splinterlands, the introduction of the SPS token, staking strategies, and the potential impact of play-to-earn games on the metaverse economy. The discussion delved into the historical evolution of Splinterlands, emphasizing user engagement, the concept of virtual real estate and businesses within games, tokenization, and the shift towards Web 3.0 and decentralized gaming communities. The conversation further examined cryptocurrency investment opportunities, particularly focusing on Hive and the Seed Token project, highlighting the attractiveness of HBD as a low-risk investment option. Insights were also shared on the confidence observed in blockchain projects, including Hive and Splinterlands, user experience challenges in the blockchain ecosystem, and ongoing efforts to enhance scalability and overall performance.

Detailed Article:

The episode of Jon's channel featured a dynamic discussion between Jon and Task focusing on various aspects of the popular game Splinterlands and the introduction of the SPS token. The conversation delved into the intricacies of staking SPS for rewards, particularly emphasizing the potential benefits of staking on players as sponsors. Task highlighted the gamification aspect of staking on strategic players to maximize rewards, reflecting on the evolving nature of the metaverse and its potential for individuals to earn a living through play-to-earn mechanisms.

Moreover, the discussion revolved around the possible impact of SPS on Splinterlands' user base growth, with Task underlining the positive influence of word-of-mouth referrals, especially among younger players. The conversation captured Task's personal experiences of early adoption and engagement with Splinterlands, formerly known as Steem Monsters, as he introduced the game to friends and witnessed their excitement for the play-to-earn model.

The concluding segment of the episode saw Task contemplating the future potential of play-to-earn games within the broader context of the metaverse, hinting at emerging opportunities for individuals to generate income within virtual environments. The dialogue painted a vivid picture of the enthusiastic exploration of innovative gaming approaches and blockchain integration, suggesting potential shifts in societal interactions with and values derived from virtual worlds.

Transitioning to the concept of virtual real estate and businesses within games like Splinterlands, the conversation expanded to discuss the significant economic value these virtual worlds could hold. The idea of supporting millions of people making a living through businesses like hotels, bars, casinos, and more within the game highlighted the expansive potential of these virtual environments.

Additionally, the transcript shed light on the importance of tokenization within these games, with various tokens and cryptocurrencies used for governance, staking, and other functions within the game ecosystem. The emphasis on token value being driven by market demand and community perception underscored the significance of use cases in determining the value of assets within the crypto space.

The dialogue further emphasized the shift towards Web 3.0 and the metaverse, where decentralized communities like Splinterlands allow users to share in the financial benefits of the platform through tokenization. This decentralized nature fosters community participation and ownership, contrasting with traditional models where value would be owned by a single corporation.

Moving on to cryptocurrency investment opportunities, the conversation highlighted platforms like Hive and the Seed Token project, discussing the potential for earning returns through trading and tokenization. The stability and attractiveness of HBD as a low-risk investment option were underscored, with comparisons to traditional markets like bonds that offer low returns. The dialogue also delved into the concept of using HBD as a parking spot for speculative gains and profits, suggesting its potential for long-term wealth generation in the volatile cryptocurrency market.

Further discussions touched upon the confidence seen in blockchain projects like Hive and Splinterlands, expressing excitement for the success of Splinterlands and its potential positive impact on Hive and other blockchain applications. Challenges faced by the Splinterlands platform, such as crashes and the need for infrastructure upgrades to handle increased traffic, were also highlighted, demonstrating the ongoing efforts to enhance scalability and user experience within the blockchain ecosystem.

Concluding the episode, the conversation hinted at forthcoming developments such as tying Hive accounts to the Lightning Network for instant tipping and conversions, stimulating anticipation for upcoming guests like Brian of London. The hosts' excitement and anticipation for technological advancements and guests reflect the ever-evolving landscape of blockchain technology, offering a glimpse into the future of decentralized gaming communities and the metaverse economy.
