Splinterlands: The Untapped Potential Of Human Players

3 Chaos legion packs out of 20 reward chests last season blew my mind, somehow, somewhere, I knew the next season's rewards weren't going to be great and I was right.

The splinterlands' reward system comes with balance. This means creating or establishing an element of surprise while managing to keep players/investors satiated according to the level of their investment.

While a person can get extremely lucky on splinterlands, it's important to realize that, luck comes with a degree.

While the luck to win when you invest is not 100% there's a certain level of expectation that you'll be lucky to some extent, especially when you put in the time after investing

Last Season's Rewards

My last Season's reward didn't come as a surprise, I knew it'll be that way, the SPS haul was quite disappointing and there was no legendary. Although I did get 3 copies of gold Permbrook (water summoner), that alone added to making me have my first-ever level-4 summoner.

Howbeit, that summoner is soulbound and hopefully, someday, I could have enough money to upgrade my other summoners. One interesting thing is that last season was one of my poorest seasons on SL. This is reward-wise and also haul-wise.

I explained in this post how the removal of bots last season crowded the space with players from the wild.

Last season, I decided to head into the gold league with 6 days left to go in the season. The reason why I did this was because I wanted to finish in maybe gold one.

This tactic isn't feasible anymore.

......The reason is that the gold league is a monstrous place to be. You're literally competing against people with some great resources at their disposal, people who are intentional about every detail regarding investing to win.

Gold League Is Monstrous

It's an intense place, but I've played in gold before and won tremendously. Choosing to head into gold cost me a lot. I lost games and incurred losing streaks like I'd never done before.

One thing I've realized is that, while we all think the bots are smarter when it comes to gameplay, the truth is that humans can be smarter with time, the right investment, and adequate resources at their disposal.

Human Players Can Be More Dangerous

Removing the bots on modern showed how resilient human players can be, so irrespective of how we fear the bots' ingenuity on splinterlands, apart from the fact that they're expert farmers, there's nothing the bot is capable of, that human players cannot do.

So, I finished with 19 chests by choosing to migrate too early into gold.

Things have changed, you don't need to move to gold to have better chances of owning more chests, once you have enough SPS requirements for gold league, you can as well stay in the silver league and have a better chance of winning.

Every season is a lesson.

This time around, the recent adjustment requires one to find the right league for them. Splinterlands is about adjusting to the innumerable changes that are happening, or else you'll be left behind.
It's good to have the second tier of gaming.

Gladius Cards: Inevitable

The guild games have been coming in steadily, and I'm happy to be accumulating some SPS to my holding. It's been a great avenue to also build my Gladius card.

One thing is that gladius cards are becoming more relevant to gameplay and this is the right time to be building a deck of gladius, especially in all departments.

It's the best time to build on splinterlands, and it's important to keep doing so before the market takes off.

@tipu curate

Thanks a million for the curation

Human players is helping the game to get back on his feet, I love the idea but if I want to go back to splinterland I will start by buying sps and build my account gradually

They could have told us about the SPS requirement very early, I could have made moves to own more SPS before now. Anyways the bot removal goes both ways. I hope to see your moves as per building your SPS account.

planing to build my deck as per what I enjoy and forcing anything, I just want to use my post payout to build it and mybe silver before ending of the year

Hahaha Omo my post payout is piling for the bull run, I no dey put money for splinterlands at the moment 😂😂😂😂

that is a great way to see things differently, you don change my mind oo

Hive moon sure pass splinterlands own. So no more investing on splinterlands, everything na hive.

i have been buying hive aggressively, that means I just have to keep buying

3 Gold summoners is pretty sweet. Especially if you tend to use Gladius cards in normal battles. But yeah, getting more packs would have definitely been better.

Yeah, you're right, however, even if I've never used this water summoner before, water element and summoners are my favorite in the game. Getting more packs would definitely had been better for me.

It sucks to hear that it's tough for you, but I tend to just move into gold for the last day or two. My goal is to end in Gold II so I can fight in Silver for most of the next season. Ending in Gold I means that you will have to stay in gold all of next season and it was a rough experience.

Yeah, I know I'll end playing in the gold league if I attempt to finish in gold one, I also dread this a lot, but yeah, even I couldn't hit my target of finishing in gold 2. It's the toughest season for me though, I didn't think it'll be that tough. I think I'll have to do better this season then.

Gold 2 was also rough for me. I barely made it to Gold II when my energy was quite low.

The ECR can be a bummer, this is true.

Human players, real minded strategy is the way to go forward. I am waiting for similar rules also in the Wild format.

It might be a long time to see this in the wild, I don't know yet, I hope so too, but splinterlands' inc might be trying to sustain the the economic aspect of the bots.

hmmm, seems I'm here to know about splinterlands. Been seeing things about it all over the blockchain

I wish you can recommend guide and tutorial on how to get started with it. Thanks

Nice one with the Gold summoners. Sorry to see no packs and not a great SPS haul though, I hope this season will be better for you.

My SPS haul was good, but I saw others with huge amounts, it must swing in roundabouts hopefully.

I saw people with very good SPS haul as well. I didn't have that last season, but I had 3 packs and I take solace in that to be very honest. However, I'm hoping to do better this season.

Well, human players is still better
Playing with human makes it more deal instead of playing with bots that will always win me...lol

It can really be frustrating at times when it get tough and you seems not to achieve what you desire in a season, but there is another season waiting to try out

Only the strong-minded can go along way with playing this game, that's why i call you the icon of splinterland

Now the fun of playing the game is even more. The person in front is also playing.

With so many changes hitting constantly, I stayed in Silver for past couple seasons. Doing the same this season and maybe next one too.
HUGE Congratzzz on your 3 CL packs and great SB summoners. I've started using mine in large mana ranked play battles and totally enjoying.

Thank you. I made a mistakes l of actually heading into gold without the right resources. I didn't expect it to be tougher than it was and I paid dearly for it. I hope this season is better.

I'm sure it will be better for you and all of us this season. We've had a bit more time to understand and adjust to the latest changes a bit better.

Are you looking forward to the land launch this month, @josediccus ?
