You could probably get an idea if that was the case just by looking at exchange volume, transfers, price action, etc etc. Hint, that's not what's going on...
The activity metric measures all the activity going on the exact same way it did on the steem blockchain. Posts, comments, transfers, etc etc etc are all activity. It's pretty simple really.
