It caught me by surprise and it has been difficult to find information, so today I come to share everything that you need to know about the migration of APPICS to TELOS and the published roadmap of the team!
I was posting almost daily using APPICS app and recently I got to celebrating my 5K APX celebration post
A few days ago I noticed that the app was under maintenance mode (IOS app) and I was really surprised! I had seen no announcement and I really did not know what happened and what to expect..
Finally, yesterday I saw an announcement posted on facebook / linking on a medium post
Let's see what we need to know!
What happened?
Why did APPICS stop functioning especially during a time where a contest is taking place?
They decided to concentrate on the new app version, than trying to fix the current app's issues..
due to the process of migrating to our new Blockchain, our backend has been compromised, which the performance and thus user experience suffered from. To make sure everything is working smoothly and to speed up the process of launching the updated version of APPICS for iOS and Android, we arrived at the decision that it would be best to put the current APP version in maintenance mode, which it’s in right now. This state enables us to focus all developers on the new version, instead of trying to sustain the current one.
When will the new version be released?
This seems to be a tricky question
They wish to complete the below before the new version is released
- they will prepare the token swap / testing
- APX will be delisted from current exchanges
- the new TELOS APX token will be listed into new exchanges
It’s important to take all measures and properly stop the circulation of the APX token, before enabling the token swap. We want to make sure to go through each step in the right order, to ensure a smooth transition.

In short
We are now on Q1 so we are waiting for the Snapshot to take place (of our wallets)
Q2 It seems to be a second quarter full of updates, the token swap, the moon version 1.0 will be released and also the tokens will be listed to the exchanges..
I see an Ethereum Blockchain / Uniswap Listing (that I do not understand at all!)
Also the APPICS will be available for all via Apple / Playstore
Q3 will have the webs version & more features ..
So let's see what they got for us!
New Registration Process - what to expect
Everyone will have to register for a new account using email/facebook/google/apple etc
The account should be phone verified and then you will create a Telos account wallet
As a last step - you will confirm your steem account username & active key (for the ones that had a steem account before)
The first step after the release of the update will be for every user to register a new account. You will have the option to simply sign-in via Facebook / Google / Apple or create an account with your email.
Next, you verify your account with your phone number, add your birthday and select topics/categories you’re interested in and your APPICS social media account is set-up.
Afterward, you will then be able to create your Telos account wallet and in the next step confirm your Steemit account username & active key (only if you already had an account previously).
You will then be shown your APX account balance of the time when the Snapshot of your APX account balance was taken.
Telos Wallet
We do not have to create a TELOS wallet right now, it will be integrated in the new app version

Thanks for sharing this, I was about to delete the app. It hadn’t shown any activity for a while now. I thought it’s was done for
I keep receiving some push notifications and I believe they will let us know when the app is ready to function again. I would suggest you to keep it for now!

Look if all the APPICS user can check out ProjectBlank before they are even able to start a technical cumbersome transition to a new blockchain. The whole pull is the „worth“ of their earned APPICS Token. I fear a lot of users will get lost - due to the timeline, due to the tech and due to the poor Communication of these massive changes.

I really don’t want to have another app, account and wallet just seems like a waste of my time! I hope they have interoperability with HIVE accounts or wallets I already have
It will sure offer a Telos wallet and I really don’t know why they mention Eth or Uniswap in their roadmap!

I love Appics but I wish the project had migrated to Hive ecosystem. Telos is not a bad choice but the Hivers are already familiar with it since the first day 💁🏽♂️
Anyways, I hope the project can reach its potential. We'll see ^^

I have used Appics in the past but I haven't used it for quite some time now.
Maybe after the migration to the new blockchain I will use it again.
