An opportunity is emerging. Legacy platforms are aiming to drive more features for creators to leverage them and supercharge their communities

#Web3 platforms have a shot at slipping in through the noise

How #Hive Can Dominate Web3

A 🧵

Sort:
  1. Web2 has come up with interesting products. These products are ever-evolving - as is the landscape of being a creator on the internet

Tik tok, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, Discord, Substack... infinite combinations of business models

So emulating them is not just flattery, it is competition, especially if they let you advertise your product on their platform! LOL

  1. In my opinion, it all comes down to User Experience

This is the one final nail in the coffin for Web2. It's the final piece of the puzzle that needs to be solved on a #Web3 platform

Once we solve it, the floodgates will open

  1. Everyone wants #Web3... well, everyone except Web2 businesses. Web3 brings data privacy, digital ownership, accountability and better community value capture models.
  1. I was just listening to the Tim Ferriss podcast episode with James Clear - they were talking about how they are multi-platform + build an email list bc they are worried about being banned on social platforms which would disrupt them
  1. This doesn't happen on #Web3... On #Hive, you don't just get banned and lose your following.

Imagine a day and age where you can build your audience and know that you truly own your digital identity.

So by emulating them and providing feature sets they can't, we can beat them at there own game?

Exactly but it all starts with User Experience

Until its easy to join and get started without someone holding your hand to onboard you, we will never beat #web2

  1. Web2 is doing this really well. They're building value capture models that creators are coming in and leveraging in ways that people only dreamt of 10 years ago.

Something else is emerging out of Web2 though...

  1. Web2 is doing quite a few things right. One example of a platform that is taking off in various directions is Discord.
  1. Other additions like Substack-style subscriptions, etc. have shown that Discord is pushing to be its own little "everything app". Elon Musk isn't the only one in the Web2 space trying to achieve this.
  1. Why don't more people know about #hive?

This is the #1 question we as a community continue to ask ourselves. We're building #Web3. We have

  • Immutable Accounts
  • Fast, Free & Scalable Transactions
  • Killer #dApps
  • Successful Economy
