I'll be gifting 1 free month of LeoPremium to whoever wins

Can be one or multiple answers. I'll pick 3 of the best entries and send you each the 10 $HBD you need to get LeoPremium

What do you feel is missing from INLEO's Long-Form experience to have you write / read more long-form blog posts on #hive through this UI?

Both Premium and Non-Premium members are also eligible to win the 1 free month

Sort:

my only issue with long form right now is discovery. when you click the Articles tab, right off the bat you are hit with a 6 month old post on trending. maybe an idea for Premium - the ability to set a default Articles feed in addition to the default Home feed

hmm yeah those top 2 posts are pinned

I see how that could look tho

it's a weird thing the way it seems

Agreed! But isn’t this the goal of the inLeo mobile use case? Threading first and Blog posts second.
The experience is different on Desktop where I am more inclined to read articles.

I think to get the basic long form post out, we have the markdown editor which is more than enough. However here are some of the features we could see.

  1. slash command like notion
  2. better way to put tables in the editor
  3. Word count of post feature
  4. zen mode for editor
  5. beautify for quote, code, list
  6. Better scrolling for reading post (current bar is too thin)

For now that's it :)

It currently feels disconnected and not fluid. In fact you almost pretty much get penalized at the moment for sharing your InLeo article on threads because of the remove link feature setting.

Outside of that the current article place needs some serious love as it's hard to navigate. Right now Trending shows me the same articles from 6 months ago which is what it defaults to. Seen in the picture. Either these need to be removed to show newer fresh content always or it needs to default to another tab. Also I rather just see a picture and the title to reduce size and allow me to see more articles without scrolling.

  • The Tag box should be made more visible and bolder.

  • Also a prompt or command should be made to come up when one exceeds the required number of tags while publishing a post

During the zealy quest when we were required to reply to a post and copy the link, it was a bit difficult for me so I had to get them from Hive frontend which was easy. All I did wasto just go to my reply and click on the time the reply was made underneath my username.

So I suggest something of that nature be added to the UI for long form contents.

I use mobile and the Copy link feature doesn't work for me.

There are a few things that need to be addressed so that we get a better experience with long-form-

  • Word count
  • Autosave
  • Better tag management
  • A better view of the article tab as the current UI is not easy on eyes.
  • I use Grammarly to avoid any spelling issues but Leo UI does not work with it. This needs to be improved (I can share more details about it if needed). The older version was working so this can too.

Thats all for now..

Thank you.

Drag and drop to move visuals in the text might be great if possible. This is pretty easy and cool to use while blogging.

Apart from that, any types of AI integration would be beneficial

Right now it’s one thing for me - which is the Word count. Helps navigate faster as you know which post you’ll be reading right now if you have the time or the one you’ll be reading later on. Word count is why i use Peakd for comments.

An auto summary feature perhaps AI based that give the summary of the post in a nutshell

well, for me it's a thing of interest. There are very few people writing the type of content I consume. Plus, I am more accustomed to consuming short from content.

However, I think I would be more incentivised to read more long form content if there is a text-audio feature. It is something I use on PeakD and it makes consuming content a lot more better for me.

For writing:

  • Snipets and templates. Very useful and I miss them every time I make a new post
  • More options on the editor, like justify the text and creating columns
  • Word count

For reading

  • Visibility of the tags and the community
  • See list of votes and who voted
  • More modes of display in the article sections
  • Same on the communities

Visibility…
I only check the Threads feed so I just don’t see the long form content. Perhaps add a setting that allows users to turn on the ability to see all long form content within the Thread feed

Let you choose whether you want Threads or Long-Form publications on the main page.

Because Home is Threads, I forget to consume long posts because of this. Unlike PeakD, which already shows long posts and that's why I consume more there.

My biggest difficulty when reading long -form from InLeo is translating into an external translator and that makes it difficult for me to read. If I could translate from InLeo itself, it would be more comfortable for me.

Auto-save for me, auto text to make reading longer content easier and enjoyable, video feature to upload videos too, that's why I am always on Ecency or Three Speak, the list of tags used should be visible..

And even the community where I posted should be visible, I also think my voting mana quantity should be displayed on my profile and time to fully recharge these beautiful features I enjoy from other frontends & having all inleo will be lit.

read more long-form blog posts on #hive through this UI?

Peakd's read out loud feature is fantastic. I use it to read out long form blogs all the time. Really wish INLEO had this feature.

I think adding Auto Save in the UI for long form contents just like we have it on Ecency will be cool so that when you forget to save, it will still be there.

Adding to the Horse’s points. It seems like inLeo on mobile is just not great for blog first reading. The discovery is not so great (on mobile). I would like having the option to keep as default the “Followed” filter in searching blogs. Maybe I already have a way to do that.
I prefer to see my frens posts first and then go to Trending.

A community feature that allows users to interact with other writers and readers, share feedback, and join groups of interest. And also A content analysis tool that provides feedback on the readability, SEO, and sentiment of the post.

The layout on the mobile version, on which I read community articles, is a bit bad for absorbing this type of content. It looks like the posts are trending too far back or there's a bit of a delay in switching between communities.

Wordcount also helps a great deal when you’re writing a post because you know where you’re at and also where you’re going. As an addition you can also add in the schedule feature. That’ll be really great for consistent long form authors.

Feel that what is missing from the experience is a way to view the long form across the whole screen. Always go to other front ends because I can see moar (at once). An option to expand (without) the sidebars) to increase viewability.

I've been posting for a while using PeakD and this is what could be improved for long format posts on #inleo :

  • an auto save system
  • an improved post search system
  • I don't understand the tag system on #inleo whereas it's simple on PeakD and Ecency.

I tried several times to publish a post using this UI, but every time I encounter difficulty, I ended up returning to PeakD.

built in AI translator would be epic, just saying 😅

I've been having problems with the limit in characters when I share a post I've made in Inleo. The characters of the link gets almost half of the limit.

You could let us see and click on a users most recent 3 posts when we hover over (on PC) or hold (on wireless) their name or avatar. I would like a kind of ports like that to peek into peoples blogs without leaving threads!

a button to auto-share on web2's and a box to add some hashtags and short thread along with link

This might be a huge ask, but I'd like to see two numbers on the post rewards:

  • What you earned in the reward window
  • What your post keeps earning from tips + upvotes to comments outside the reward window.

I'm a big believer that we should incentivize evergreen curation.

If I have to say something, I find a bit confusing to have a "Publish" Button and a "Thread" Button.
Other than that, I have started to post small items from my day job with pics and the UX is cool. Oh! and less buggy "Mark as read" button!

A built-in espresso machine for those long reads perhaps? #JavaForThought
