The Play2Earn Report - Back On Track!

in LeoFinance3 years ago

Welcome back to another edition of the Play2Earn Report! As this week's title suggests, things have been going a lot better for me this last week. While I still have some items in my backlog, I had a lot more time for the crypto world again and managed to increase my activity substantially. With most things figured out for now, I should be able to whither the Corona-Storm until Spring without any further interruptions. I also managed to start blogging again and I'm aiming to release a new article at least every other day.

Before we take a look at each individual game, let's talk about the tokens I'm staking for a moment:

TokenAmountIncrease
Hive5.83041
Leo15018
SPT10,766514

These numbers might not seem very high, but I'm still really happy with them. Since I did not have time for blogging two weeks ago and I also did not power up any additional Hive, these earnings are entirely coming from my interaction with Hive. Curation rewards in the case of Hive and Leo, delegation rewards for SPT and some rewards I got from comments for all of them. With author rewards starting to come in again, these numbers should become even better next week.

Now, let's talk games!

Splinterlands

The gods of the Splinterlands have been really kind to me. I won my region in the presale lottery which obviously is really huge for me. I already did a whole article on that matter so I won't get into any more details here. That said, my whole week in Splinterlands was really successful.

champion 1.png

Just last week, I managed to accumulate the 500,000 collection power needed to advance to Champion League and now I'm already in Champion I. I really just wanted to test the waters this season, but it seems I even have a shot at the top 50 to win me some boosters. I won't be around when the season ends so it's going to be tough, but I'm pretty confident about playing in Champion League in the coming seasons as well, no need to stay in Diamond really.

I also continued to play in more tournaments and some days I had up to 4 tournaments running at the same time. It does take some effort to adjust to the different rule sets, though. Especially in the lower league tournaments, some staples I use all the time in Champion suddenly become rather useless. Nevertheless, I did pretty good and managed to reach a payout spot in all but one of them.

I even managed to win my very first tournament this week and I'm really proud of that feat. Sure, it's only the Novice level tournament, but then again, it's the only tournament where all players are competing on equal footing. The prices from these tournaments are adding up and competing in these events has increased my earnings significantly.

I also finally got around to setting up a dedicated account for my card rentals. Things are going quite good there as well, with a total of 31 cards rented out already. Right now I'm earning 0.2$ each day from these rentals. Not much yet, but I still think it's pretty cool and something that can only grow as both Splinterlands and my collection becomes bigger and bigger.

Cryptobrewmaster

Cryptobrewmaster released its market last week and what an amazing game changer this has been. To tell the truth, I was a little skeptical initially how much the market would be used but it seems that this was completely unfounded. I've been listing pretty much everything I've got my hands on during all of last week and I sold most of it.

Thanks to my referral rewards, I keep getting new high quality ingredients every few days. Mixing in the normal/good quality ones from the daily quests, I managed to accumulate quite some CBM in the process. Last week alone I made almost 500 CBM from trades. Looking at the current numbers, this would translate to about 30 Hive... pretty nice!

Talking about referrals, I've been finding new ones even while I did not do any new posts, seems like spreading out my referral link is really paying off for Cryptobrewmaster. I now have a total of 242 referrals for the game and I don't see an end to that.

It certainly took a bit longer than what I anticipated, but it seems Cryptobrewmaster is right on track and heading towards a bright future. There are so many additional features teased in all buildings available already that it's probably going to take years to get everything in motion. I'm really looking forward to being part of that journey!

Rabona

Sadly, not all things can go as good as they do in Splinterlands and Cryptobrewmaster. Despite some additional RBN investments, I did not manage to stay in my league and was relegated to league 3. I now went all in and invested basically all my RBN to set up a new team of young talented players that hopefully should help me to move back up to league 2 right away.

So far, things are looking alright with 4 wins in 4 matches. To tell the truth, though, I'm not sure if I'll stay active for much longer if I don't manage to get back up to league 2 pretty soon. There are currently 3 teams in the league that don't even have enough players to play a match and I think that's rather annoying. Hopefully though I should be able to turn things around and move back up. Only looking at raw numbers, I certainly have the strongest team in the league, although it's going to take some training sessions until the new players are accustomed to the formation the Durlacher Deiwel are playing.

Rising Star

Rising Star certainly is one of the games that suffered the most from my recent lack of time. With the need to interact with it on a regular basis to start a new mission, my activity here was rather low and I mostly just started another long mission whenever I had the chance.

That said, there are a lot of cool new features and animations to discover and it seems ever since they released into beta, it's been running really stable. The Starbits price still seems to be somewhat pressured and is mostly around the 10,000 Starbits = 4 Hive mark. Ultimately, maybe the old highs might not be attainable again but we'll see about it.

With more time at hand, I started to do missions more organized again and I'm now in a position where I really use almost all of the different missions available to me on a daily basis. I'm really glad I have access to all 4 zones because otherwise, I might run out of (shorter) missions to do eventually. The game feels really good at the moment and I think that the balance is finally right.

I earn about 20,000 Starbits per day, sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less. With the lower number of total missions daily, RNG has a more prominent role. I still try to buy one booster every day and use the rest to buy NFTs in another game... more on that later.

If all goes well, I'll do another dedicated article on the state of Rising Star game this weekend.

eXode

eXode is still on track for the release of leaderboard and updates this month which will be really awesome. Right now, activity in the game and in the discord is till rather low but that's to be expected with everybody waiting for the big release. Elindos has settled into a more stable release process with new stuff added to the game every Tuesday and then some days of bug fixing afterwards.

There's another huge story surrounding eXode also. Even though there are no rewards yet, the market is still pretty active with some big deals being made every now and then. Just this week, a Suntek character pack was sold for 150$. Now keep in mind that these packs have been given out for free(!) to the earliest adopters back in early April - that's pretty huge!

It certainly is going to take years for Elindos to get all of his vision done (and I'm sure he won't stop there). But whenever I see something new from the game, I become more convinced that it will be worth the wait - both from a gameplay and a financial point of view. The game itself is more than promising and I really can't wait to develop my very first colony. But looking at that trade above, the financial aspect is doing great as well. If I decided to sell out right now (which I most certainly won't do!), I could probably do so at a win - and that's huge for a project in the state that eXode is currently in. We'll hear some great things from that game and it's going to be pretty soon now.

Farm Farmer

I made a dedicated post about the game during the week, so there's not too much else to say about it right now. To me, this is not a game I will interact with on a daily basis. With a Mining Probability of 0.018% there won't be any big news every day, either. I'll leave it in the list of games I cover because I think it's a great project that deserves as much support as it can get, but other than that, don't expect too much on it each week.

dCity

And here it is, the game I've been secretly spending some of my Hive from other games on. When I first got into Hive, dCity was one of the few games already running. While I did take a look at it initially, I didn't really get it and since I did not have much Hive to invest back in the day, I stayed away from it for the moment. Once I had more Hive to invest, I felt like it simply was too late to still get into the game. Well, it seems I was rather wrong about that.

After some comments on my recent articles, I decided to give it a shot and so I invested a couple of Hive to build a very basic city.

dcity.png

With this setup, I earn 70 SIM each day and I can already see the appeal of the game. Managing the different numbers so they stay in perfect equilibrium is fun and engaging. I'll take it slow for now and only buy another building or two each day, but once I figured everything out I might very well invest some more Hive into the game. Much like FarmFarmer, this is basically a source of regular, passive income that doesn't need any further interaction once it's set up. I'll do a dedicated article about dCity some time in the future as well.

Conclusion

All things considered, this has been an exceptional week for me and after a minor crisis (mostly caused by my real world life, though), I really feel like I'm back on track and I'm already looking forward to the huge things waiting for me in the coming weeks and months!

And that's all from me today, thank you all for reading and see you next time!

Impressive - for me a bit other way round, quite successful in Rabona and there with all passion, not lucky on Splinterlands (land grrrrr), leaving risingstar and struggle with cryptobrewmaster - out of interest where did you spread this referral link to get such an amount of joiners only?

Basically in every post that I made about Cryptobrewmaster or where I at least mention it. I publish everything I write to Publish0x as well. You don't need a Hive account to join Cryptobrewmaster so I'd guess that's where a lot of my referrals are coming from. Already found 3 new ones since I published the article :-D

Interesting, thx for the hint, a reason to use that Account

dCity looks very interesting - how much Hive would you recommend to purchase a basic city?

I invested about 80 Hive to get to an income of 82 SIM per day, that's about 0.4 Hive/day - pretty decent return.
