Town Star

Who doesn't like "farming" crypto?
I sure do and I think I discovered something really interesting today and that's "Town Star".

#TownStar is a farming #game built upon GALA Blockchain and created by the people behind Zynga's famous game called "Farmville". Town Star is actually a more improved and fun version of it!

How to Play

I am not an expert either but as you will see in my video the goal is to build your own self-sufficient city, produce various goods like water, wood, vegetables etc and sell them to make money so you can pay your workers, upgrade your city and many more...

Even the area in which you decide to build your city plays an important role in how your city will evolve.

For example

You need a "Refinery" so you can produce gas.

Gas is needed to you can travel to different locations and sell your stuff! If you build your city right next to a forest you'll be able to farm more wood so you'll be able to sell more wood and at the same time build more stuff!

This game is way more complicated than it sounds and as far as I can tell it requires a decent amount of free time if you want to be a Top Farmer.

In my understanding, the Town Star team is trying to create it's own world map full of player-owned cities and players will be able to trade good for crypto!

Rewards

After I did some research I discovered that there are currently 3 ways to earn BoxCoins (Town Stars in-game currency) while playing Town Star.

1) Invite friends

3) Winning the Weekly Contest

There is a weekly Town Star contest with a ton of #GALA for grabs! It's not easy winning that contest but if you have some money to spend then everything becomes way easier!

Having #Gala allows you to but "Parts" and build your own "Farmbot" so you can farm Boxcoins for life.

Owning a "Farmbot" is basically a Boxcoin miner! Only 1000 Farmbots will exist and owning a "Farmbot" is the only way to mine Boxcoins! You can also buy the parts needed to create the "Farmbot" on https://opensea.io/collection/town-star

Gala is also building an in-game marketplace in which players will be able to sell their game assets (buildings, tokens, and robot parts) for #Gala and Boxcoins once the official game is realeased.

Producing supplies might be free for now but I don't think it's gonna be that easy once the game leave Beta stage!

Pros - Cons

Pros

I was never a fan of farming games but this one sure looks promising! It's a really well designed game, easy to understand and I have yet to experience any bugs.

I also like the mechanics! You must always think twice before you build/sell something and that's what makes this game interesting! Every single action counts!

Cons

Town Star is still in an early beta stage so everything is subjected to change but as far as I understand it's a pay-to-win game!

Town Star might be a free-to-play but not owning a GALA node or a "Farmbot" make things way way tougher unless you are a farming game-guru!

I also couldn't find an official in-depth Town Star guide so excuse me if any of this info is inaccurate! I am browsing the web for more than 3 hours so I can provide you with the most up-to-date info about this game.

Bottom Line

Interesting game but at the same time kinda boring for those of us who do not like farming games. I also think that Town Star requires a decent investment if you want to be the owner of a decent city or else you need to put a tremendous amount of time and patience if you want to make it big!

I will keep farming and try to dig more info about how everything works.

I bought a gift box for 10$ when this game just released, played a few times, and invited some people. Then I forgot about it.

A few months later I found out that GALA coin is getting on the market and then I checked my account. Surprisingly, I had more than 400K GALA coins worth more than $400 at that time.

I sold a big part of them and it was a good decision so far. I have 80K left which I'm holding for the future. They also have another game coming out so it may have potential.

What I can't stand is that the game has to be open all the time because otherwise, nothing would happen. I can't stand it because if I start playing, I want to play as best as I can!
