I have 2 choices for internet providers where I'm at. Verizon 5g or xfinity "10g" (lol wut). the xfinity 1.2gb plan was awful and went out basically every day. the Verizon was good til last month when they changed my plan to 50mbps without notification. So to get the exact same plan and be able to use the internet without everything loading forever, I had to upgrade to the $80/month plan. Fuck xfinity and Verizon.
About a year ago, I got so pissed at Spectrum that I cut them loose and tried T-mobile 5 G internet and I have been pleasently suprised. I run a lot of stuff off my wifi and it has held up well.
It is $50 a month.
I have spectrum and have thought about changing to the T-Mobile internet but the 5G signal at my house is a bit spotty, so that's why I haven't. Not sure if it would be worth the savings for that

I do not see the reason for such a high cost of internet service.

funny enough I just got off the phone with them. Ordered the tmobile 5g. Had no idea it was available for me area. Spectrum is awful as well

$80 a month sounds expensive to me.
I get 30 GB data per month for just 2.2 USD.
I use about 1tb of data/month so it's not that bad. Just annoyed that it started aat $50 like 6 months ago
Then it's a par value. But as u said, considering what it was 6 months back and what it is now...it has become expensive.

I read a post on the internet about 5g being fast but I disagree. They said it would fry a lot of things in no time but I still think the microwave is faster. It's been three months and my food is still frozen.
hahaha 5g is trash in 95% of the world. There are some tiny areas where it's decent. Still not as good as LTE. Maybe xfinity 10g will cook it faster
Maybe Starlink will be the way to go, once it actually links up with a star.
