Old lady? Or is that too cliche?
oh yeah the sweetest old lady. she introduced me to the volunteer coordinator for the whole county so should be a solid connection. heading back in the morning for 700 pounds of books
Nice!
What are you doing with the duds from that haul?
I have stopped doing bulk pickups because I just can't easily process and then move the duds back out.
No chance getting the smaller thrift stores to take boxes worth off my hands and the bigger salvos now want to sort through them 1 by 1 to check condition (what the fuck?!).
I managed to offload 10 boxes worth fo duds (not terrible, just don't fit my metrics) to a for profit thrift chain that asked no questions but damn its tough.
Luckily I have access to book stores that buy bulk so I can process 3 large mail roller carts (or 1 full as fuck car load) per person. We currently have 4 pending that usually yield around $300-400 in store credits. We cherry pick for free
donations picking through your donations in front of you is disgusting. Fuck out of here with that. The next best thing might just be posting lots of duds for free pickup on local marketplaces
