The present financial system is build on size. Since it is basically run by Wall Street banks, we see how size does, indeed, matter.
A challenge with this system is that it is exclusionary. It does not include most people. Instead, there are accredited investor rules that mean only the top layers of society can participate.
Also, when dealing with the regulatory process, only large companies are able to operate within the guidelines set down.
This all changes with cryptocurrency and Web 3.0. What we are developing on Hive is an example of this.
SPInvest
This was one of the first projects on Hive that mimicked the investment funds that are so common on Wall Street. While it is nowhere near the size, it is providing a steady return for those who go involved.
The idea is to pursue a 20% APR. Anyone who knows about investing and compound interest understands how this can grow into a fortune over time. There is no need to hit a "homerun" with each move.
Cryptocurrency offers many opportunities to generate a post 20% return. Certainly, there are going to be volatility in the return due to the markets. This is where the long term focus enters. Be looking at things a decade (or more) down the road, we can shrug off the pullbacks that happen during bear markets.
This project was followed up by a number of other projects. None of these are going to rival largest funds on the planet. Yet, something like EDS is paying a greater than 30% APR.
These are the nuggets that exist right before our eyes.
LBI Token
One of the major follow-ups to SPI was the LBI token. This was based upon the Leo project, one that is focused upon expanding.
Again, long-term focus is our ally. By building, we are seeing things moving forward. It is one of the applications on Hive where people are starting to apply business principles. This is crucial for the future.
The most recent AMA talked about submitting a proposal to the DHF for marketing. This is focused solely on the resources to bring people to Hive and Leo. It is not going to be used for development or the build out of the front end.
Here we see an example of what is required. After playing around with the Ad Revenue idea, monitoring the click rates, and putting together a few concepts of how to encourage pageviews in the future, we can see the potential of bringing money into the ecosystem. This is something novel.
Leo is roughly 4 years old. LBI is in its 3rd year. It might seem like a long time but, when it comes to investing, that is nothing. We could see a massive return over the next few years that, when averaged out over the life of LBI, is very strong.
We have another example of a small project, relatively speaking, that provides a solid return. Again, this is never going to rival Wall Street or something put out by the investment banks. However, there is enormous potential for those who are getting involved.
This is the opportunity that Web 3.0 presents. We do not have to get into the major stocks or private equity ventures to build wealth. The issue is that most do not have the initial resources to get involved to the degree that will get people to that level.
With cryptocurrency, those are presented all the time. Like EDS, garnering 30% over the course of a decade or more is going to serve one very well.
There is a lot of money that can be made in small projects.

Isn't LEO the whole reason we're in this particular fund?
Would it be smarter to fund the buybacks by dumping some of the external investments instead?
