I have quite some acquaintances in which the only reason they contact me is when they are in need and after that, I don't seem to exist again.
This is extremely tiresome and a big reason for some people to hide how well they are doing in life, just so their acquaintances don't reach out only when they need something, damn.
I would never act in such a way. For this reason, I will never lend money that I cannot afford to lose.
Just like books, if you are not willing to lose the money, don't lend it, because most of the times lending money or assets will eventually end up with you losing money AND a friend.

I can totally relate with this, that's why I'm not surprised when I see people trying to hide their identity it is due to the fact that they know who their acquaintance are.
This is so true!
And more of the reasons why people don't make themselves easily accessible.
