I’ve got a question about the hive block chain. When exactly is the interest paid on HP?

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

2.99% right now. It is in your peakd wallet.

And it isnt interest, it is actually an adjustment for inflation. Minor difference to most but a major one to those who are barred from engaging in interest bearing activities.

Also in the future please post your question under the appropriate headers (this one would be Hive obviously).

QUESTION:
Considering the present price of Bitcoin, will you still go for Bitcoin investment or other potential altcoin if you have $1000 to invest?

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Like gold and silver, the best time to buy Bitcoin is now. Buying the dip is excellent advice, but DCA makes it possible to have something added every day.

If you want to invest USD 1,000m that's OK too. Just be sure you hold on to it long enough to at least go 2x; after ir reaches 2x, it's your call whether to HODL or cash out. Let Bitcoin do some work for you before you let it work for someone else.

You can also invest USD 1,000 in altcoins. If you do this, I would suggest a mix of most coins covered by @crypto-guides (just avoid SafeMoon and PulseChain) and "lottery coins" (a term coined by @taskmaster4450le).

Lottery coins can be shitcoins, but these have the promise of gains over time. Before 2013, Bitcoin was (at best) a lottery coin, if not a shitcoin. Since there are far more lottery coins and shitcoins out there than we realize, I can't give examples beyond Shiba Inu (also covered by "@"crypto-guides, but whether its a shitcoin or not is in the eye of the beholder).

Since you're here with us, HIVE should be part of your altcoin portfolio. It could be the best development platform no one has heard of, so take advantage of that until it becomes an "overnight success" in several years. This would give you opportunities to acquire promising Layer 2 tokens at pre-2013 Bitcoin prices (especially the gaming tokens).

If you want both Bitcoin and altcoins, then USD 333.33 to USD 500 goes to Bitcoin and the rest to the altcoins of your choice (DYOR).

If you can invest USD 1,000 in Bitcoin and USD 1,000 in altcoins, even better.

I'm not a financial advisor, nor do I play one on TV, nor did I stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night; that means this comment is not financial advice. However, I make this comment to offer a point or two to consider. In the end, how you spend that USD 1,000 is totally your call.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

It's hard to choose but I think I would avoid it at the current prices. Then again BTC is never really bad to hold on to.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

It us not bad to hodl but if you are not hodl significant amount, you won't be able to make much gain.

I think it depends upon what one is doing. First, is it passive or active. If one is engaged, perhaps $1000 in Hive would be better since one could create a return off it through activity.

Also, is there BTC held. If none, it is a good starting point.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Difficult decision, since there are alts with a good bullish cycle at the moment, but I would decide for bitcoin, since although the growth is slower, it is more stable than alts.

I know there are a lot of people making bank off SHIBA but I am glad I do not get involved in the circus.

The ups and downs will drive people nutty. I fear that many in it do not realize how quickly things can reverse course.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Gemini, the exchange which New York State allows me to use, doesn't list Shiba Inu (SHIB), so I can't get any. People I know who have SHIB spent USD 10 to USD 20 on it; they aren't going to go crazy if goes belly up.

I ended up doing the next best thing tonight: I spent 1 HIVE (@ USD 0.77) for a bit over 3367 STARBITS.

At least we know the token is for the next best game on Hive, Rising Star. People were making a big deal when DEC reached USD 0.01, and I missed the boat on sub-cent Dogecoin.

I'm happy for the people owning SHIB, but I'm going with STARBITS.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

It is always good to have those "lottery tickets". Sure throwing a bit of money at something and hoping it 500x is great (as long as you can afford to lose it).

Rising Star appears to be on the radar of many. I hope that keeps growing.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Oh have you started Rising Star? There are also a bunch of giveaways going on if you need some cards/starbits to get started.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I am not playing Rising Star (or Splinterlands, for that matter). I'm simply buying STARBITS to HODL until all the zeroes disappear.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I don't trust DOGE coin and it's family of altcoins at all. I would rather burn coins on crypto with use case.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Yea I don't think I could take it either. I just think the risk isn't worth the reward from SHIBA so I avoid it. It's not like the normal stock market where I can sell options to offset and earn some cash either.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

The SHIBA saga is one that has created FOMO in the crypto space and for those who understand that such coin is not idle for long term inveetment, they may likely get profit from it short term trading. Nevertheless, it is a risk investment because to me it is just the same with other shit coins

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

The beauty of shitcoins (if you want to call it that) is that only a few USD (or their equivalent in other currencies) is all you need to buy them.
Spend and forget.

If you forget and the shitcoin drops to 0.00000000 or simply goes bust, you would have forgotten about it. If the shitcoin moons and transforms into something on par with a local currency, you would hear about it and that's like winning a lottery if you had any.

Just don't put loads of money into shitcoins, and don't spend money on hundreds or thousands of shitcoins. Pick a small number, but the equivalent of a few lottery tickets, record the transactions on paper and somewhere else offline, then forget about them.

True, the same is happening with safemoon, again it is having a violent upward cycle, but as it rises it falls very horribly.

Facebook going into Crypto, this is been talking about like year ago when sighted Libra but seems like the social media is ready as they change their name.

Do you think this wont be stopped again or what's your take about Facebook changes to Meta?

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Reputation matters a lot and this is why Libra failed and more reason why any coin that Facebook will bring up may not likely get traction.

Facebook is so much in love with centralization that whatever coin they will bring up will likely have the same characteristics. Regulators are also monitoring their movement. They may only succeed in creating altcoins but not stables as earlier planned.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Well, meta is a bit of a strange name in my opinion, it looks like a licensed meth lab, but I think these changes are going to take the world in another direction, just like we dreamed in the movies, I think blockchain and cryptocurrencies are the future and everything we see will change.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I have no idea but I don't think the governments will really step in that much since it's only a name change at this point. However I really don't like them using the name and I don't want them to be the gatekeeper.

$Hive bounding between $.75 and $.78 all day long.

Setting a range just like BTC.

We will see if it can break to the upside.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

While the upside is good, I am fine with either direction. I am playing the long term game so the short-term price won't matter as much. However seeing it higher might be better so I can get more credits for packs after the pre-sale.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

It will certainly break. Altcoin season will soon begin and we are likely going to gain much from it when it does. Hive is a long term investment for me.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Anyone with any insight into SOMEE?

I cant tell if it is on Hive or not. There is not a lot of clarity there in my mind.

Perhaps I am missing something.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I didn't encounter SOMEE in my Hie Engine research, and a quick check on Tribaldex didn't show anything. The closest match to SOMEE is AWESOME:

LogoSymbolNameUSD (SWAP.HIVE)Market Cap
AWESOME logoAWESOMEThis Is Awesome$1.77734 (2.27828)$2,476.81

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I have heard about it but it was more or less vague. I don't think it is specifically on HIVE but I could be wrong.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

This is a comment that @bobinson left in one of my posts.

We are almost there - right now connecting a Peerplays TESTNET to the Hive MAINNET. Once this demo works, we can have 100% confident and we are days away from this.

Talking about connected the HIVE SON (and I presume HBD) to Peerplays.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I wonder if on this year's Hive Fest we'll have any pleasant surprises or the same presenters all over again. Speak Network is something to look forward to, but I feel that something new to the space is needed. Does anyone know something fresh happening on Hive?

It appears the hope is a mobile app will be approved for IOS by next week. I wonder what the hopeful timeframe is on Android.

Of course, all are at the mercy of Apple and Google now with this.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Maybe we need a decentralized alternative app store. Then again, it's not like we have an OS system though.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Actually there is likely going to be a lot of issues that may come up from this. People especially scammers can create clone app and extort people's fund. Also the scam apps can't be reported and removed as it is decentralized

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Well it could act similar to HIVE engine where you can hide the app. But yea I see the issues involved.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I am looking forward for the mobile app and I believe that it will come out before the year runs down.

Marc Powers at CoinTelegraph wrote this opinion piece on judges and other officials who ignored ethics guidelines and oversaw cases featuring companies where they held stock:

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Money matters. They won't really care and they know that the punishment won't really be as much as they earn most of the time.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

It's like companies which would rather pay a fine than lose a lawsuit; it's just the cost of doing business.

It also helps them that in place is a Department of Justice which will leave these people alone.

Question. Have you bought anything from the crypto that you have earned? be it from hive or any other crypto?

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Are you asking if anyone cashed out of crypto and used that cash to buy things?

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I haven't specifically but I have seen a few other people who have posted about it. Sometimes it just some pizza or lunch. Other times, it can also be a new car.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Of course I could remember buying a laptop and an Android phone with money I made from cryptocurrency.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I haven't cashed out yet, but when I do it would be first to pay down debts and help people close to me before I invest and spend on myself.

I have updated the white paper let me know what you think and what are your thoughts on the meme image?

Happy for people to contribute to the development of the white paper

I think it's fine but I think a standalone website would make it way more appealing to the retail mob. They are suckers for a good website interface.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I was thinking about it but I want to go full Web 3 decentralised.

Certainly an interesting way to approach things.

Going to be watching this to see where it goes. Looking forward to digging into it deeper.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Ok so I think I've figured out the regs and we're good to go. Just need to figure out how to raise the 10 BNB without an ICO.

Anyone keen on buying some @skippymemetoken with bnb? Lol

I suggest you create a post about it, specifically telling people about the USE CASES. If people are convinced with the use cases they will certainly key in.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Well as a meme coin, I don't think there is much besides maybe allocating some percentage of profits/trades to other areas.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

A deflationary meme coin is a good coin for investment. Also, if the meme coin has staking option, it is another thing that can attract people.
