Satoshi Nakamoto is the name or alias that belongs to a person, and possibly, group of people who developed the blockchain technology, thanks to which the dream of digital money became possible, that which does not exist anywhere in the physical world and yet can be used just like fiat money to buy goods, products, services and much more.
The change brought about by Bitcoin, the first cryptocurrency to be successfully conceived and the very powerful ledger - Blockchain - was so great as to affect the whole world. Starting with the fact that finance was revolutionized with the emergence of a medium that does not need "intermediaries" to be used, i.e. what is known as a P2P system without the need for banks, government entities, companies or heavy organizations.
Soon the world would realize that it was facing a revolution as or even stronger than the advent of the Internet, in which anyone could use a simple computer to send Bitcoins to the other side of the world in a matter of minutes or even seconds without major inconveniences.
Companies such as Paypal, Visa or Mastercard, began to see this as a threat just as many banks still do. The transparency of the ledger makes it possible to see who spends, how much they spend and what they spend it on, with a very strong security and offering endless possibilities. Now Bitcoin has become a refuge against inflation and remains the favorite cryptocurrency to be a method of payment.
Other currencies have been born and waves have been unleashed in the crypto-financial ocean capable of keeping the water murky for very long periods of time. More coins and more coins are born, along with promising projects oriented towards different sectors such as education, real estate, sports, nature, business, agriculture, administration, health, video games, digital art.
We can now affirm that Satoshi, the person or people behind that pseudonym, have changed the world. Last we heard, the Ukraine-Russia war became a catalyst to use cryptocurrencies and tokens as a means to deliver humanitarian aid. In the end, we don't know where that ended up, but it pertains to a rather sensitive topic and is not the focus of this post.
Conclusion
Satoshi planted a seed, this seed called Bitcoin has grown considerably and changed the world irreversibly. Most of the changes have been positive and this has allowed many people to gain an additional avenue to generate income or manage the income they already had in a more efficient, secure and faster way.
We all know that blockchains are not perfect, they may be far from perfect and this is increasingly true as quantum computer technology that could break the encryption of almost invulnerable ledgers gains traction. So far we have witnessed:
A new means of using money.
A new kind of money.
New methods of investment.
Ways to innovate or improve in different sectors through blockchain technology and the creation of cryptocurrencies or digital tokens.
This is just the beginning, it is not over, it will continue to evolve and bring more changes, let's wait to see what the future holds for us with this technology, which allows us to take different actions and yet, we are still unable to "touch" the Bitcoin.
I'll leave it there for today. I have tried to keep it simple and not go on too long this time. I will try to develop topics about cryptographic space in a deeper way next time.
