We can't launch the SURGE Bridge & LPs during a snapshot window
ICYMI: SURGE's dividends are paid out 1x per week (every Sunday at 0:00 UTC). Exactly 24 hours before said payout, there is a snapshot window
This window starts every Saturday at 0:00 UTC & lasts for 24 hours. It randomly snapshots everyones' SURGE balances. It's designed with randomization to avoid gaming the dividends (i.e. buying SURGE, getting a dividend & immediately selling)
We have two options here and we'd like YOUR OPINION. The community rules. Whatever this poll decides will be our fate:
- We can launch the SURGE:LEO Liquidity Pool (anything on HE won't be interfered with for the snapshot) now and have that pool to start. It will be seeded with ~$30,000 in liquidity (the other $20k will be SURGE:USDC/SURGE:WETH)
- Wait to launch until after snapshot and we can launch Base LPs simultaneously

Quick extra explainer on how the snapshot window impacts the Bridge to Base being launched (and why the Bridge Base can't launch during a snapshot window):
If the Bridge to Base is launched during the snapshot window, in theory someone can game the snapshot by holding on HE; waiting for the snapshot and then migrating to Base and getting a dual snapshot
This is why we can't launch the Base Bridge until after any snapshot window has completed
This doesn't stop us from launching a SURGE:LEO LP on Hive-Engine. It just stops us from launching the SURGE:USDC and SURGE:WETH pools on Base
Vote for if you want us to wait on the SURGE:LEO LP until after the window or do it now!
