McCarthy was injured during Saturday's preseason game against the Las Vegas Raiders but had not mentioned any pain or soreness to the Vikings' medical officials until Monday. The Vikings were awaiting the surgery, which was led by Vikings team physician Dr. Chris Larson at Twin Cities Orthopedics in Eagan, Minnesota, to determine his recovery timeline.

Mets win convincingly tonight but they are now 1 1/2 games out of the Wild Card position. Arizona has won six in a row they are red hot and the Padres have won three in a row and the Braves have won two in a row. I love the Mets but I'll be honest those three teams have solid teams that I can see the Mets having a hard time overtaking. With that said, each of those teams have enough weaknesses that it's still possible for the Mets to squeeze in.
