I'm one week into this LeoFinance / Hive blockchain thingy, and my meager first post got me some LEO!
I did some quick token swaps on LeoDEX (cool!) and bagged ~500 DEC for my Splinterlands account to play with. The question is now:
WHAT DO I SPEND IT ON!?
I'd love to get some better Summoners but that's obviously a ways away. So what are the best "starter" monsters?
I don't want to be pinned down to a specific splinter so early, especially if I'm trying to grind daily quests. I feel like I want a good neutral tank, like Goblin Mech.
Beyond that, I have no real conception of the meta or the full scope of card interactions, so I don't trust my card evaluation quite yet. I'd love some feedback!
A final word on the new player experience: give me more cards! I earned my first card the other day, a Flame Monkey!
I like having a 1 cost monster to slot into my compositions. Give me more tiny, durdly monsters! I don't really care about quality at this point, I want variety. I want low level mind games that are actually interesting!
Thanks for humoring a Splinterlands noob. I'll be keeping y'all updated on my grind. For now, I'll be taking some of my LEO earnings and powering up my Splinters, so expect GREAT THINGS as the feedback loop can only get stronger.

And yeah, I always got crushed by the Goblin Mech, so I think that's a great idea. And the chicken. I love adding the Furious Chicken to my lineup. Zero mana for distraction. 😅 Creeping Ooze too.

thanks for the recommendations! i ended up grabbing a Goblin Mech and an Ooze as they're cheap and neutral, but i'll keep an eye on the price of the others. Haunted Spirit seems very good!
