A good crypto week// Some thoughts on everything

in LeoFinance4 years ago

Ive been away for a few days and dealing with the UNI airdrop. Sold some, hanging on to a bit to see if it will go up again now that the claims slowed down.
Been keeping a close eye on the price and doing a few trades. I knew Coingecko was better then CMC but they did show it especially now with providing the valuation of the token so fast and CMC still not getting it right.

The UNI airdrop is the biggest airdrop in crypto history and goes to show how much opportunity there is out there.
You just cant spend time in a echo chamber of your favorite token and hope to prosper.
Thats not only bad for you but its bad for your token because you miss out on many things and cant reinvest what you get elsewhere into your token of choice.

Thats why ive been familiarizing myself with the DEFI market a bit more. My initial thoughts didnt change, its all mostly worthless trash and the legit projects you have dont really justify their high market caps.

What did change is my stance on the crypto market. Im slowly letting go of my somewhat idealistic view, although i was always slightly skeptical, of the tech and starting to see it for what it is.

The government "prints" fiat with goals of introducing stability into the economy, maintaining low unemployment, etc.
In crypto individuals "print" tokens to enrich themselves.

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt but the printing continues.

But that doesnt matter. What matters is finding yourself in the whole story. How do you benefit from it all.
I say: try and preempt the hype and dont get stuck with all your eggs in 1 basket.

Im glad i didnt because unfortunately HIVE does seem to be stuck in a rut right now.
While the market moves on, the folks that can affect change here, I call them "THE GREAT WALL OF STUPID", are still regurgitating the crypto ideas of 2016-2017, not listening to community input or reacting very slowly to it, not knowing how or will they even implement their archaic, in terms of crypto, ideas.

What were seeing is a dissipation of responsibility and those that should take the reins, not doing so.
Thats not how you turn a project into a success.

Still. Hive has a strong bottom line. Many believers that are hardly ready to let go. The community is good for keeping you stable but it wont shield you from the drop off when you dont innovate and adapt to the market.

My point being

Reach out and look because when you do, sometimes 3000 USD just falls in your lap.

Yep, and these days we don't need stability. Technology has created so much abundance what we need are responsible citizens who know how to manage their money so the volatility of explosive tech abundance doesn't wreck them during the bear market years.

This will create a situation of even further explosive gains. It's all a matter of creating systems that allow trustworthy people to gain wealth and spread it around instead of greedy or foolish toolbags. Easier said than done, obviously.

If we were all responsible and could manage our finances... We have all these systems in place because not many can.
Crypto, atm is not for everyone. Consider your father, mother, grandparent in the position of you in the first few weeks of you learning about crypto or even now with all these DEFis.
The legacy systems, in relation to crypto, besides everything else, are there for those that cant adjust to the standard of responsibility crypto requires of you. They let go of certain freedoms and rely on law to protect them. They give money to others to care for, they let them use it create more money to lend to those that need it...
Its only normal. I know those over 60 years old that dont know how to turn on a pc.

I dont think the future is a system that lets trustworthy earn but rather a system that gives more financial autonomy to everyone but protects them from the dangers we all face in crypto every day atm.

If you create a system that isn't rife with corruption, the people who don't understand crypto will get airdropped wealth regardless of their technical ability. It doesn't matter if they don't know how to turn on a computer or a phone. Someone will just come by and give them things or deposit fiat straight into their legacy banks accounts. These communities haven't even started to materialize in the real world yet. Think 2020 is weird? Just wait for it. This entire decade is going to be batshit insane, I guarantee it.

I'm so salty about never using uniswap...

Im salty about many things. Thats my point. Dont tie yourself to one project. Explore.

You couldn't say it better.

Well it was a good week up till couple hours ago. :)

And dont call me sir:

"Sir" should be reserved for presidents or Prime ministers and when youre pulled over by police when speeding. ;)
