Polar bears are facing starvation due to longer ice-free periods and scarcity of fat-rich food i.e. seals and other fatty animals. They are spending more time on land and eat unusual food such as birds, fish, and small animals. This behavior causes them to lose weight and leading to starvation in the region. This has also affected polar bear population in Hudson Bay region of Manitoba, Canada.
