What if someone hacks and takes away your crypto?

Being a crypto holder is not easy because you are paying higher taxes and also, you can trap in a money laundering case according to the PMLA act. And there are big exchanges that get hacked. So there are many risk factors involved in the crypto field. Now how users can save themselves? Because hackers can hack their funds too. These people keep coming up with new ideas every day to hack you and take your fund and I am seeing them daily on telegram, discord, and even on Instagram.

I want to share my personal experience here. I followed two crypto influencers on Instagram and in next day person with the same name as that influencer sent me a request when I check his profile then he has the same post as that influencer and a good amount of followers. In the end, I recognized him by his comments. he was asking me to join his group and sent me a link which was suspicious phishing link.

I know you are intelligent and you won't fall into the trap but sometimes we live in an illusion and that is the best time when you make mistakes. So always you must have to be alert. It is okay that you are saving your keys and it is secure which is a good habit. They will come up with phishing links or malware that will record your keystroke.

Now how you can deal with it let's talk about it. First of all, do not click any suspicious links and enter your credentials. And second thing that do not download any suspicious files now let's say you have downloaded any suspicious files but you are not sure about that. In this case, you must have to use the virtual keyboard to type your keys which seems like an impossible task right? because typing the whole key on the virtual keyboard is a time-consuming process but you don't need to do this. Just type the first 5 to 6 letters and paste the remaining password. And the last option is formatting your system or removing the malware.

Advanced users always keep anti-malware in their system which is a good habit. Nowadays hackers are advanced they create the exactly same page as any crypto company to fraud you. I had been through this situation in past and I lost my funds and till now I don't know why it happened and what was the mistake. I lost my liquid steem tokens in 2018. After that, I realized that if you keep your hive in hp then it is very safe. Hive has a recovery account option which is excellent but make sure you have chosen the right recovery account.

So being on crypto means you are surviving from the government, hackers, and whales also. It is still a new technology and not very adopted by the people yet so that is why we are seeing this. But not in the case of hacking because this danger will always be hovering. Stay safe take care.
